Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2012, Early Saturday Evening (Part 1)

With things back to normal - or as normal as Fandom ever got - preparations for graduation had gone into full swing. The ceremony was set for right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, and the lawn had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths in which to walk to the seating area and giving everything a twinkling, serene appearance.

Of course, the staff knew that graduation was rarely a serene event, and the fact that Ingvar's volcano was being unusually active emphasized the need to prepare the seniors as much as possible. Last year's cache of weapons had been discreetly stashed in a trunk behind the podium...and yes, they'd all been properly cleaned. Who knew what dried Viking blood could do to metal?

Once everything had been arranged, the guests were let in, and all that was left was to pray everything went smoothly.

Rinoa took her place by Raven's side, and smiled at her friend. "I should have been watching the processional last year, but I wasn't," she admitted. "How are we supposed to do this? Arm-in-arm, side by side, or do we hold hands?"

"Side by side, I think, but I do not believe there are specific rules, at least none that I have been told," Raven said, turning her head to give Rinoa a smile. She was glad to be walking in the procession with a friend.

"We could dance," Rinoa laughed. "Act as though we thought we were supposed to. Line by line of processionals, and then two dark-haired-girls dancing."

Raven pressed her fingers to her lips and giggled. "No one has stated that we could not do such a thing, which would indeed be an act of celebration," Raven agreed.

"We could try for very solemn dancing," Rinoa said, eyes sparkling. "Step, step, clockwise-twirl. Keep in step with the processional and each other."

"I believe it is imperative that we twirl," Raven said. The occasion totally called for it. Really.
