Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2012, Early Saturday Evening (Part 1)

With things back to normal - or as normal as Fandom ever got - preparations for graduation had gone into full swing. The ceremony was set for right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, and the lawn had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths in which to walk to the seating area and giving everything a twinkling, serene appearance.

Of course, the staff knew that graduation was rarely a serene event, and the fact that Ingvar's volcano was being unusually active emphasized the need to prepare the seniors as much as possible. Last year's cache of weapons had been discreetly stashed in a trunk behind the podium...and yes, they'd all been properly cleaned. Who knew what dried Viking blood could do to metal?

Once everything had been arranged, the guests were let in, and all that was left was to pray everything went smoothly.

There was a wolf on the stage. Well, two wolves, but at least one of them was human-shaped.

Really, although the certificate only bore her name (or so she assumed, having no idea what the piece of paper actually said), Firekeeper felt she was accepting it on behalf of both of them, as Blind Seer had been just as much a participant in classes as she had been.

Ben had delayed his return to his seat in order to cheer loudly for Firekeeper and Blind Seer.

They'd known each other since they were freshmen--a slightly terrifying prospect--and it seemed only right for him to cheer them on.

So was it wrong to howl instead of cheer? Francine had been considering the question for, oh, a whole fifteen seconds before just giving into the impulse with a grin.

Jumping up and down while cheering wasn't very ladylike, but Dani didn't care. She was very proud of Firekeeper and Blind Seer.

Karla was also howling. If there was a better time to put her experience with the Hall's pack's bedtime stories and howl-alongs, she couldn't think of what it would be.

Firekeeper (and Blind Seer) got an extra enthusiastic burst of applause from Tahiri, and a guttural yell that, in Tusken, translated to effusive congratulations.

Mostly, it sounded like growling. Oh, well; she figured Firekeeper would at least get the sentiment.

"YAAAAAY FIREKEEPER! YAY BLIND SEER!" Dinah called at the top of her lungs, then whistling enough to annoy any wolf. "WAY TO GO!"

If there were not two names on that certificate, Ghanima would be quite vexed - she had always counted Blind Seer on role, and graded him as any other student.

Her cheers and claps were for both the wolves, then, as was her pride.
