Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2012, Early Saturday Evening (Part 1)

With things back to normal - or as normal as Fandom ever got - preparations for graduation had gone into full swing. The ceremony was set for right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, and the lawn had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths in which to walk to the seating area and giving everything a twinkling, serene appearance.

Of course, the staff knew that graduation was rarely a serene event, and the fact that Ingvar's volcano was being unusually active emphasized the need to prepare the seniors as much as possible. Last year's cache of weapons had been discreetly stashed in a trunk behind the podium...and yes, they'd all been properly cleaned. Who knew what dried Viking blood could do to metal?

Once everything had been arranged, the guests were let in, and all that was left was to pray everything went smoothly.

Bruce accepted his diploma with a proud smile, a firm handshake, and an eye out to make sure nothing was going to attack while he was on the stage.

In fairness, he probably would have done that last one even if this wasn't Fandom. As he made his way back from the podium, he gave a wave to the crowd. There was a strong chance it was a signal to Alfred that all was clear for the moment.

Bubbles for Bruce! Pink and shiny ones!

"Yaaaaay Brucie!"

Hanna was definitely cheering and applauding for Bruce as he accepted his diploma.

Alfred was going to clap politely for Master Bruce once he took the stage. Okay, so it was less polite and more 'terribly proud'. There might have even been a whistle in there.

A very proper, British whistle.

Momoko couldn't help but stare at the man as she clapped for Bruce as well. He totally looked familiar but she couldn't quite place him.

Ben clapped and cheered for Bruce.

And not just because then he'd clapped for every other B name in the class, though that amused him.

"Congratulations, Mr. Wayne!"

Yes, it was a mouthful to cheer, but it was a polite mouthful.

Cassidy cheered and applauded when Bruce's name was called.

Annie applauded loudly, because they were only up to the B's and her hands weren't tired yet.

"Yay Bruce!" Ryan shouted.

It felt like forever since Bruce had TA'ed for her (because it had been, for her), but Jaina was applauding. And all things considered, figuring he'd be good if something attacked.

Kate didn't know many of the graduating class that well, but Bruce was lucky to be one of the exceptions, and there was a cheer and clapping for him from her direction.

Of course there was.

"BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE!"

.... shut up. Quinn was totally allowed to do the obnoxious Springsteen thing once as she clapped for him.

Stephanie, let it be said, did not cheer for Bruce because she felt obligated to do so.

Unless you counted feeling obligated to enjoy the total bizarro-coolness factor that was watching her boss get his high school diploma, 'cause that part was pretty imperative.

A great deal of clapping. And maybe some foot-stomping. "BRUCE!"

Okay, this was hilarious. Dinah had to get a photo of this for Helena. Someday she might want that.

Momoko did indeed cheer for Bruce. They may not have been close friends but she totally considered him a friend!
