Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2012, Early Saturday Evening (Part 1)

With things back to normal - or as normal as Fandom ever got - preparations for graduation had gone into full swing. The ceremony was set for right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, and the lawn had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths in which to walk to the seating area and giving everything a twinkling, serene appearance.

Of course, the staff knew that graduation was rarely a serene event, and the fact that Ingvar's volcano was being unusually active emphasized the need to prepare the seniors as much as possible. Last year's cache of weapons had been discreetly stashed in a trunk behind the podium...and yes, they'd all been properly cleaned. Who knew what dried Viking blood could do to metal?

Once everything had been arranged, the guests were let in, and all that was left was to pray everything went smoothly.

Valedictorian speech over with, now Tara could relax as much as she was going to at a Fandom graduation ceremony. She was beaming as she went to get her diploma.

And Jono was grinning a little as Tara went up to collect her diploma, too. She even got a whistle of encouragement from somewhere in the back of the crowd.

Her speech had resonated with him. That was what Fandom was, to him, and he was going to have to clap her on the back and congratulate her later for putting it so well.

So, so much clapping. Tara had come a long way just in the two years Wesley had known her, and she deserved the recognition.

Particularly after her speech, which had been pretty damn inspiring.

There was all kinds of applause coming from yet another one of Tara's fellow graduates today! Applause, and, heck, a cheer. Because some people just required cheering, that's why.

... Oh god, he was next, wasn't he?

Tara certainly deserved applause - and so that was exactly what she'd get from Ender, who looked pleased to see her on the stage.

Tara totally got a whistle from Billy, along with a cheer. Wherever she ended up after here, he hoped she'd be okay.

Just this once, Karla felt absolutely no guilt about making noise while Tara was the center of attention. She was so proud of Tara and happy for her and she deserved every cheer and bit of applause she got.

Lucivar bellowed again. Tara wasn't a witch the way he understood it, but she had helped when Karla was in trouble and her Craft had come in handy. So he'd stand and applaud for her today.
