Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2012, Early Saturday Evening (Part 1)

With things back to normal - or as normal as Fandom ever got - preparations for graduation had gone into full swing. The ceremony was set for right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, and the lawn had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths in which to walk to the seating area and giving everything a twinkling, serene appearance.

Of course, the staff knew that graduation was rarely a serene event, and the fact that Ingvar's volcano was being unusually active emphasized the need to prepare the seniors as much as possible. Last year's cache of weapons had been discreetly stashed in a trunk behind the podium...and yes, they'd all been properly cleaned. Who knew what dried Viking blood could do to metal?

Once everything had been arranged, the guests were let in, and all that was left was to pray everything went smoothly.

With a grin, Bod stepped forward and took his diploma. His eyes fell on the audience, on those he knew and he felt really accomplished for one of the first times in his life.

It felt excellent.

"YAAAAY NOBODY! WHOOOOOOOO! CONGRATS!"

Of course Kate would try and be the loudest person there at this particular moment. Of course. She probably would've jumped up and down, too, if she hadn't also been taking pictures and not wanting those to get all blurry.

And she looked really damn proud of him, too.

Sure, they hadn't really spent much time hanging out since about forever ago, but Bod had been one of Warren's very first friends... pretty much ever. They'd been partners in bachelorhood and in 'the world is huge' revelations and crazy schemes to take out want ads so that they could pick up real, live girls.

Bod was getting a fervent round of applause from Warren. It was mandatory.

Silas wasn't as loud as Kate but he did come very, very close to smiling when Bod crossed the stage. He didn't clap though.
