Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2012, Early Saturday Evening (Part 1)

With things back to normal - or as normal as Fandom ever got - preparations for graduation had gone into full swing. The ceremony was set for right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, and the lawn had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths in which to walk to the seating area and giving everything a twinkling, serene appearance.

Of course, the staff knew that graduation was rarely a serene event, and the fact that Ingvar's volcano was being unusually active emphasized the need to prepare the seniors as much as possible. Last year's cache of weapons had been discreetly stashed in a trunk behind the podium...and yes, they'd all been properly cleaned. Who knew what dried Viking blood could do to metal?

Once everything had been arranged, the guests were let in, and all that was left was to pray everything went smoothly.

Miley took a breath as she took the last few steps onto the stage, and flashed her hugest I'm-a-pop-star-with-fans-who-like-me-because-I'm-also-a-really-nice-and-gracious-person smile, and accepted her diploma with dignity and class.

Or she tripped and tried her best to hide it. Yeah, it was that one. Don't tell?

Jono might have gave his eyes a good-natured roll when Miley tripped, but he couldn't help but smile.

Yeah, he was proud of her. The girl had learned a lot since coming to the island.

Caroline cheered for Miley, even if it did end with a little cringing. There was no need to tell when it was all caught on film, right?

Dave cheered and whistled when Miley got her diploma. He did the same, but with some laughter, when she tripped.

Look, it was funny.

There was a "woo!" mixed in with Annie's applause, though it was cut off at the trip just in case she'd somehow caused it.

It was actually a little adorable that she tripped.

And it didn't stop Jeremy from cheering loudly for her.

"YAY MILEY!" Juliet was a little sad to be losing her best shopping buddy -- who also happened to be famous -- but she was still incredibly proud to cheer for this one.
