"Classic Mythology" - Final Exam, Period 2, 4/18

Hercules, looking a little uncomfortable in his uniform, greeted his students with a smile as they filed into the classroom. Once everyone was seated, he started to distribute pencils and a... written test.

"All right, students," he said. "You will have the class period to complete these very serious, very academic, very normal tests. And when you have normally completed them, you may hand them in at my normal teacher's desk. Normally."

He nodded. "And now you may begin. I would like all of you to know that I enjoyed having you all as students. Within the normally accepted bounds of normal enjoyment. Thank you."

He sat down at his desk. As you do.

"Hi, I'm Lisa," Lisa said softly, once the students seemed occupied in their test-taking. "So today is a totally normal day in your totally normal class?"

She couldn't quite hide her smirk. Hercules protested too much.

"Well, it is not normal for pretty women to walk in before I even know their name," Hercules replied, totally getting off topic. "So that is unusual about today."

Lisa smiled tightly. She liked being complimented, but it was always a little embarassing at work.

"Well, now you know my name," she said. "And you can probably guess I'm here with the school board. Was this a good semester for you, before today?"

"I would say... yes," Hercules said after a moment of contemplation. "The class was a subject dear to my heart, and the students seemed to learn a great deal about the way of Olympus. From stories. Of course."

"Of course," Lisa echoed calmly. "Any stories seem to resonate with the youth of today?"

Hercules had to think on that one. Mulling it over in his head, he said after a moment "Icarus."

He nodded in agreement with himself. "They seemed to enjoy that story the most." Especially what with all the flying.

"Flying too close to the sun?" Lisa checked. "Nice and symbolic. I'm glad."

"Exactly. Though I think many in my class may not take it too close to heart. There is a lot of ambition in these young people," Hercules said. "Though it seems mostly of the good kind."

"I'm not surprised," Lisa said. "They definitely have to be special to get by here, with the killer rabbits and such, so ... they should channel that energy into ambition! Definitely."

"Killer rabbits?" Hercules said, not having paid much attention. "Are things not... super normal out today, like they are every normal day?"

"They are so incredibly normal that I had to bat off three normal rabbits with my umbrella on my way to the building," Lisa revealed. "One of them grazed my ankle."
