Ethics [Thursday, April 5, 2012, 1st period]

"Fandom tossed a curveball at us this weekend," Anakin said withem a little smile as he walked into the classroom. "Children--or teenagers--from various dimensions. Some of them probably seemed more plausible than others. I got to meet my son Christopher again, which was...interesting, as in a non-Fandom setting, I wouldn't get to until he's born in a couple of months."

His lips quirked up again. "That's been a bit confusing for his big sister Juliet."

He leaned against the desk and looked around the classroom. "So my ethical question for you is this: did this glimpse into your potential futures make you want to change your current path? Do you think the future is carved in stone, or is more fluid? And if you know something about someone else's future, do you have an obligation to tell them?"

...so his conversation with Leia hadn't strayed too far from his thoughts yet. Sue him.

Considering Alex's precognition, his relationship with the future was an interesting one. "Some things are just...they were always gonna happen," he said, a little vague and then his voice became a lot more firm and he declared, "but that will never happen. Ever in a million years."

"Impossible combination!" Loki chimed in.

"I didn't have any kids show up, so I can't really answer the first thing," Stacey said with a shrug. Which was sort of disappointing, really. Like she didn't stand a 50/50 shot of ending up on Teen Mom anyway. "But if I knew someone else's future, I guess if they wanted to know, sure, I'd tell."

She thought about it, and shrugged again. "I'd tell them it was really bad before saying what it was."

"I didn't get any possibilities. I didn't have any kids show up," said Ryan, looking kind of glum. She wasn't about to say it, but she was worried that it meant she didn't have much of a future.

That was a relief to hear. "Then I'll try not to take this weekend as a sign," said Ryan.

"No kids, but I did learn that I can entertain myself while pandering to kids in a newspaper. And I'm sure that tells me something," Dave noted.

He didn't know what, of course. "As for knowing someone else's future... I guess it depends on what it was I knew and who it was. Which I realize isn't as specific an answer as you might like."

"Probably good news. Then at least I know things would turn out okay," Dave answered.
