301--3rd period

"So business and trust. I did a little experiment, a little practical application...and I have to tell you, I was pretty happy." She launches into the tale of how Lucas the record store guy earned her trust. She smiles and pulls out Stevie Ray Vaughn and plays it for the class during the discussion.

"So...we've done trust and business, and trust and S/M/R...how about trust as it relates to emotions?"
and that's a cold shot babe....

401--5th period

"I'm going to set you up and turn you loose. There is an inherent power that comes with trust. It's an insticntual bond between parent and child...in theory, and is less fragile than most people assume in an interpersonal relationship. I want you to either go to the library or get online and find evidence of a relationship where trust is either very stron OR has been broken, and investigate the power dynamic of the scenario."

She's kinda fidgetty...like she wants to get out of here, like now...

"He was everything to her...I can see why she felt she had to go." Sitting beside her on the couch, she laid one hand on Maia's knee and wrapped the other around her shoulders. "I'm so sorry, sweetie. It seems like everyone's being left behind lately."

Maia nodded, her eyes bluring again "I loved her." Maia whispered "Trusted her more then I've ever trusted anyone." Maia swiped the tears in anger again "I asked her to take me."

"She's a great girl, I don't doubt you love her, Maia. Just because she left, you don't have to change her to past tense."

She squeezes a little tighter, and asks the question she already knows the answer to...after a fashion. "What did she say when you asked?"

Maia swallowed hard. "She said it was to dangerous. Said that she would if she could...but that she couldn't and I knew she couldn't. That is was to dangerous for me." Maia said, heartbreak has a physical aching, and that was what her heart felt right now.

"She was probably right. I know it hurts, Maia, and I can't take that away, but it will get better. She obviously loved you too."

"I know she was right..." Maia started to say "But I-..." She looked up into C.J.'s eyes "I would have gone anyway, even with the danger." She looked down at her hands again, her vision blured and she saw Chiana's grey hand slipping into hers. "She loved me as much as she was capable of I guess...we never...we never said it to each other...not in so many words...it was looks, touches..." Maia took a shuddering breath.

"Sometimes that's the only way, Maia. To show it."

Rubbing her arm with her hand, she pulls her a little closer.

"You're safe in here if you want to let it out, Maia. No judgements. I can't fix it, but I can listen."

"I just want her back C.J. I just..." Maia brushed her tears away "I just want her back, I'm so angry at her for leaving even if it was for Nerri. She-she didn't even let me really say goodbye." Maia leaned into C.J.'s arms "I told her it was ok to stay, that we fixed everything and Diana wasn't going to tell but she had to leave anyway. I want her back." Maia's voice was hoarse.

Her mind wanders to the boys, gone a few weeks now...god, how she missed them. Squeezing a little tighter, her own voice cracks.I know, Maia. Believe me, I know."

Maia wondered who she meant, most likely she meant Shane and Tara but she wasn't sure and thought asking would be rude. Maia stayed leaning into C.J. arms silently thinking of Chiana. The parents weekend, the halloween party, the first time- the first time they were together. Moving only to brush away tears Maia's mind kept floating back to Chiana's smile and she heard her laughing. She loved her laugh.
