Chasing History's Monsters [Friday, Period 1]
When the students arrived, they would find Annja and Arya standing next to a stack of handouts. Once everyone was seated, Arya started passing out the handouts.
"We covered Yeti," Annja began. "So it's only fair that we cover its North American counterpart, Sasquatch. Also known as Bigfoot, Sasquatch is said to have more of an ape-like appearance than the Yeti."
"Several scientists have discounted the existence of such a creature," Arya continued. "They believe it is nothing but myth and folklore and has no real basis in scientific fact. It's also said to have an unpleasant smell by people who claim to have seen the creature up close."
Annja shrugged. "Several people claim to have seen it, others claim that it absolutely does not exist. Several others have created well thought out hoaxes to fool the world. Anything from creating large wooden feet to leave Bigfoot tracks to designing a costume and having their friends tape it."
Arya stopped and looked at her. "They purposefully tried to fool people with these things?"
Annja nodded. "Sometimes, it even worked for a time." That said something about those scientists in Annja's opinion.
