Library, Sunday 03/04

Raven really wasn't sure just what had happened last night. Well, she remembered it (most of it), she just didn't know how it had happened. She and Cassidy had just been drinking tea and then...the jello. Oh, Azar, the jello. And the singing. And the multiple phone calls.

Fortunately as a healer she really didn't get hangovers, or she'd have an epic one right now. She'd managed to purge herself of the worst of the after-effects, though her head still ached a little and her stomach wasn't too sure of itself. The books were quiet so far at least. She really hoped they were going to stay that way today.

Sometime after brunch ~~so as not to do a Jamie Madrox impression~~, Bobby made it down to the library.

"So you want me covered in hash browns, huh?" he asked, trying not to snicker. Which, no, wasn't the exact wording of the voicemail she'd left, but it was how he more or less remembered it.

Raven blushed and dropped her head to the desk. "It was a line from a song!" she protested. "I do not have inappropriate thoughts about you like that. We did not know what the song meant!"

"So I don't have to call Sookie and tell her she's got competition?" Bobby teased. "Good."

Raven lifted her head, eyes wide. "No!" she said. "She does not!"

"Relax," Bobby reached over to give Raven a friendly nudge. "I'm just giving you a hard time." Because the faces she made when he teased her were endlessly entertaining.

"I do not know what happened last night," Raven said mournfully. "Somehow I became intoxicated on tea. And then increased it with jello shots."

On the plus side, neither she or Cassidy had ended up dyed different colors, so that was a win in her book.

"Well, Jello shots are dangerous," Bobby said knowingly. "All that sugar hides the alcohol." Yes, he'd found that one out the hard way too.

"We wished to taste a rainbow," Raven said. "And then Cassidy wanted to sing but we did not understand all the lyrics so we called people to try to explain them. I now understand what doing it like they do on the Discovery Channel means."

And the Discovery Channel was clearly porn.

"You," Bobby facepalmed. "Oh, man. And you don't have a killer hangover?" he checked.

"I was able to purge much of it," Raven said. Sometimes being a healer was awesome. "But my head does hurt a little, and my stomach is upset."

Powers could be handy like that. Not that Bobby could heal exactly, but the process of switching to his ice form and back had some extremely beneficial side effects. "Want me to go grab you a ginger ale or something?" he offered.

"Will that help?" Raven said hopefully. She wasn't used to feeling sick at all, but they'd had a lot of jello shots the night before.

Bobby nodded. "My mom used to bring it to me when I was sick," he shared. "I think it's the bubbles."

"I would very much appreciate that then," Raven said eagerly. By all rights she should've spent the morning praying to the porcelain god, but she did want to get rid of the lingering queasiness she hadn't been able to heal away.

"Be right back," Bobby told her, darting out into the hallway to grab a soda from the vending machine. "One cold ginger ale, as ordered," he said, presenting it to her with a flourish.

"Thank you," Raven said, opening the can and taking a sip.

"I am never touching jello again," she added. Before she'd healed away most of the hangover, she'd felt like she was going to die when she'd woken up.

"That bad, huh?" Bobby said. "At least you didn't end up dyed different colors." Unlike poor Warren.

Raven would have a gone into hiding forever if she'd ended up dyed bright colors. Forever.

"We only slurped the colors, not wore them, fortunately," Raven said solemnly.

"See!" Bobby said brightly. "You came out ahead of Third, then." He'd had his own healing factor and had still ended up the one dyed ridiculous colors.

"I still feel very foolish," Raven said with a little pout. "I do not normally indulge like that. It is dangerous for me to do so."

"Raven, I spend most of my waking hours and probably some of my sleeping ones looking foolish," Bobby pointed out. "It hasn't killed me yet." Admittedly there had been some close calls when he'd pushed the supervillain-taunting a bit too far, but. Not the point. "As for the danger- everyone survived the night, except the Jello shots I guess."

Bobby wasn't struggling with being an embodiment of Pride, though. But on the other hand, at least she hadn't said anything too awful to Jono, though asking him about sexual euphemisms was embarrassing enough.

"You do not risk everyone around you becoming intoxicated when you do," Raven pointed out glumly. "But yes, it does seem no permanent damage was done, though I should check on Cassidy and make certain she is well."

Yeah. As illogical as it seemed, Bobby's source of pride was actually his complete lack of shame when it came to making a fool of himself.

"Maybe not," he allowed. "But there's a part of me that worries whoever I'm out with could wake up with, like, frostbite or something the next morning." Which... was not something he'd ever readily admit to most people. But then, Raven knew more than most people about his fears regarding his powers. "I'd say bring her an asprin, but I guess you wouldn't need to worry about that," Bobby mused.

"I have healed hangovers before," Raven said, nodding. "It just seems to be a little more difficult to entirely purge myself of one." At least she'd spared herself a rainbow visit to the bathroom, though. Eww.

She sent a light brush of comfort Bobby's way at the mention of the worries about his powers. "Our gifts all come with a price of some kind," she said. "The need for caution and awareness is one of the highest."
