So You're a Fugitive From Justice, Tuesday, 3rd Period
Class was in the Danger Shop today. Zayne and the students were standing on a platform on a skyscraper in what certainly looked to be an alien planet of some sort. But aside from an ocean in the distance, it didn't look like there was anything here but city as far as they eye could see.
"Okay, everyone. Today's class was an inevitability from the time this class started. And since you could probably use something fun two days after break, I think it was about time," Zayne said. "So today we're going to have some fun with high speed chases."
"Really, being chased was my immediate present and future back when I first saw what my teachers did to my classmates. They chased me through our school building until I got to my swoop bike and led them on a chase through the city. We tore through the sky, some buildings, down garbage chutes... It was pretty intense. And it all happened here in this city."
"Well, a few square blocks of it and some nice backgrounds in the distance," Zayne amended. "But this is roughly what Taris looks like. It's the planet I grew up and trained as a Jedi on. And if there's one thing Taris is known for, it's swoop bikes. If you're not familiar with them, they're like motorcycles here on Earth, but they fly. And there are some right behind you." Zayne pressed a button on the shop remote and a swoop appeared for everyone in the class.
"I may have made the point several times that I was always a terrible student. But to make up for that, I've also always been a great swoop rider. So I'm going to run you through some of the basics of piloting a swoop, then let you have some fun around the few blocks I was able to make in the shop. Three basic tips right away? Be mindful of your surroundings, try not to crash unless you really mean it, and remember that you're not going to get hurt here. But you really could if you were doing this for real."
"Oh, and if you have a good handle for what you're doing halfway through class, I'll let you race a partner to start to get a feel for the chase itself."

Swoop 2: Races
Either take a time challenge on your own to see how fast you can do it, or bring competition into it by finding a partner and racing them.
Don't worry, there aren't any traps here. Just sharp turns and potential opponents.
Re: Swoop 2: Races
He'd be completely open to racing someone, though.

Re: Swoop 2: Races
"Isn't that another family tradition?" Anakin inquired, perfectly innocently, of course.
Even if it was on antique vehicles.
Re: Swoop 2: Races
Re: Swoop 2: Races
It was completely genetic, and also probably Anakin Skywalker's fault.
LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE GALAXY, APPARENTLY.Boys, try and remember you are not the only people in the room?
"So, want to do this?"
Re: Swoop 2: Races
Tahiri had rubbed off on him.
Re: Swoop 2: Races
"I'm not used to hearing that from someone who wears shoes," he commented, then leaned over the handlebars of his swoop. "On three, then -- and I'll even let you count."
He was completely convinced he was going to win.
Re: Swoop 2: Races
Re: Swoop 2: Races
He let out a howl as he took the first corner tightly enough to scrape the swoop's chassis and send sparks flying.
Re: Swoop 2: Races
Re: Swoop 2: Races
Right after ducking an overhang. Oops.
Re: Swoop 2: Races
...This could probably explain why the Skywalkers and Solos spent so much time in bacta.
"Last one across the line is a scruffy nerfherder!"
Re: Swoop 2: Races
Except it was, and that might also point toward why their family basically had a bacta tank as a vacation home.
"With ronto breath!" Anakin yelled back as he went into a sharp dive into the Middle City level.
Re: Swoop 2: Races
It was really convenient they were close enough together to banter, huh?
Re: Swoop 2: Races
"She doesn't have to know." Anakin twitched his handlebars to maneuver his swoop a fraction closer to Ben's -- not an actual attempt to bump him, just a feint. "It'll just make her want to come and try this course out just to beat us!"
Which she would, and then where would the bragging rights be?

The list of things Zayne did really well was fairly short. But swoop racing - especially with this kind of setup - was most definitely on that list.
All in all, he broke the newly set course record by a couple seconds, hoping that it would serve as a reminder that sometimes the best competition might not be in the family.

What a healthy sense of competition he had!
