The Elements of Friendship, Thursday, Period 3

"Hi, everypony!" Pinkie said without preamble when the students had arrived, into what seemed to be the inside of a giant library carved directly out of a tree. "So I noticed a lot of you guys have loads and loads of extra energy, this week!" Sure, Pinkie, if that's what you want to call it. "So I figured it was time to do something extra-special fun!"

She whipped out her party cannon, seemingly from nowhere, and aimed it at the sky above the students heads. "PERIOD COSTUME PILLOW FIGHT PARTY!" she cried, and slammed her hoof down on the back end of the cannon, firing . . . period costumes and pillows at them.

"Have fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun!"

[ooc: OCD is up. *whacks you all with a pillow. while wearing pince-nez.*]

"Aha!" Rapunzel declared, leaping toward Jim and brandishing a pillow.

It probably would have been a lot more graceful (and possibly more threatening) if she hadn't been wearing a massive hoop-skirted dress which totally half-tripped her up during that leap.

"Aha- hey!" For what it was worth, Jim dropped his pillow, stepping forward with his arms out to catch Rapunzel when he noticed that near-trip. "Careful!"

He was wide open for a good pillow-whomping, but so help him, he was going to be a gentleman. Kinda.

Rapunzel had already braced herself for landing on the floor, so being caught came as something of a surprise. Enough of one to startle a fit of giggles out of her (which meant Jim was safe from pillow-whomping... for now).

"Oh, wow. That was embarrassing!" she exclaimed, smiling gratefully up at her savior.

"I can imagine," Jim replied, smiling faintly. "It looks like your costume is a little less pillow-fight friendly than mine is, huh?"

... Just a bit, Jim. Yes.

"Hmm..." Rapunzel considered that. And considering took concentration, so she was actually distracted from getting her feet under her again. (Besides, Jim had been very gallant catching her, she shouldn't take that away from him!)

"I suppose." And then she grinned wickedly. "Except that I still have a pillow!"

Which she proceeded to try to whomp him with.

It turned out that it was hard to get the leverage for a good swing when someone else was holding you up.

Oh yeah, that was the whomping of Jim's life, right there.

Which he took completely in stride, trying not to laugh too hard at Rapunzel's attempt.

"Would you like me to take a few steps back so that you can get a good swing in, there?"

He'd hold still and everything!

"Are you saying that that wasn't a very good hit?" Rapunzel asked, trying to fight down a grin. As usual with her, she completely failed at that.

"Though, I suppose it is completely unfair to attack someone who is keeping me from landing on the floor." And with that she tried to scramble to get her feet under her. Besides, he was right, she definitely needed to be on her feet properly if she was going to swing a pillow with any force.

"I'm not saying it wasn't good," Jim protested with a laugh, dancing back to get his pillow as Rapunzel worked on getting to her feet. "I'm just saying it could have been way better!"

"Oh it could, could it?" Rapunzel demanded, planting her fists on her hips and ruining her attempt to look stern with the twinkle in her eye and a barely-suppressed smirk.

"Well, yeah," Jim replied with an easy grin. "I mean, maybe it was just the way you were standing..."

Or not standing, as the case had been...

"... But if you wanted an on-the-fly smacking things lesson, I think I have a thing or two I could probably teach you."
