Defending Yourself [Monday, Period 1]

This week the Danger Shop was configured to be a normal classroom. Which kind of defeated the purpose of using the Danger Shop. Unless you were planning something. Not that Max ever did that.

"I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend," Max began, leaning against his desk. "And while I didn't explicitly assign anything, I hope you've all been doing your homework." He gave everyone a moment to absorb that. "Considering last week's lesson, I'm hoping that you've all been thinking about defensible positions, escape routes, and improvised weapons throughout the week." They had, right? Like studious little students?

"Good. Because this week we're going to be discussing what you've observed over the past week."

Max's eyes swept across his students and he pointed (at random): "Let's start with you." Then his eyes swept the rest of the room, "And don't hesitate to speak up if you've got something to say about what someone else says."

While Max is distracted singling people out

This is a prime chance to just make something up. In fact, Max would totally approve of someone thinking on their feet quickly enough to do so.

"I always check that sort of thing out," Mercy said with a shrug. "Probably just 'cause of the way I grew up."

A coyote among werewolves whose only real defense was her speed, learned to be really well aware of exits and obstacles.

"And did anything in particular strike me?"

"I'm not sure there was anything in particular," Mercy said slowly. "Just, you know, the idea of always being aware ad sitting where you know you can get out quickly if you have to."

"That's a pretty useful habit to get into in certain situations." It had saved Max more than a few times.

"It's worked for me," Mercy said with a grin. "I'm still in one piece."

When she signs in

Surreal was totally there, and might even help if asked.
