Anarchist Philanthropist Club; Tuesday after Classes [ 01/31 ].

Hopefully, everyone had made it to the clandestine location in which the Anarchist Philanthropists of Fandom High would unleash their first revolutionary bit of charity. If not, well, then, they would probably find themselves on the better side of the law. Though she was hardly a law-abiding citizen, Britta was nervous, wringing her hands a little as she looked toward the store, and then back to her fellow anarchists.

“Okay, guys, so,” she said, “every day, thousands of people in this country alone are starving because they don’t have enough food, so a lot of people will do canned food drives to bring truckloads of sustenance to food shelters for those less fortunate. Unfortunately, what people don’t realize is that, by going into mega marts and super stores and purchasing this food, they’re just funneling in money to the same corporations and big business that hold the people they’re trying to help down in the first place! So we’re going to have a canned food drive ourselves, but we’re going to do it....” She paused for dramatic effect and a big grin, “anarchist style.”

Jim was not facepalming. He wasn't! Could you see how good he was being, not facepalming?

"I mean, obviously this activity is optional, since neither of us is really in charge or anything," he ventured, "and in the end you can do it however you want to," which included paying, but where was the fun in that? "What we're really going for is getting some food on the tables of some hungry families out there, however we can. And maybe for not getting caught. I'm a pretty big fan of not getting caught."

He was one arrest away from Juvenile Hall. He really, really, really didn't want to get caught.

Britta was also one arrest away from Juvie, but that wasn’t going to stop her from narrowing her eyes slightly at Jim as though he was so not being anarchist enough right now. “Not getting caught is a good idea,” she said, “so it’ll probably be a good idea if some of us cause a distraction. So while some of us are causing a distraction, the rest of us are going to bust into that establishment,” she pointed dramatically toward Turtle & Canary, “grab all the non-perishable foods we can, and run like heck. We’ll rendezvous back in the classroom to go over the spoils and get them ready to be shipped out to needy associations. And there will also be punch and pie, as well as some completely vegan snacking options, too.”

All apologies to Elphaba if she was there for the over-exaggerated and poorly executed wink that was directed her way at that point.

"Yeah, I think I'm going to be with the distraction team," Jim said, with a look that suggested that he was seriously considering cutting his losses and heading back to the dorms at a run the moment Britta had her insane little head turned the other way. "You know. Because I'm good at that. Distracting. Yeah."

“Okay, guys,” Britta clapped her hands together. “Let’s go!”

"Dude," Kenzi said, still impressed by stuff like that. "Is there any way I can learn that?... Maybe we should hit Outback next. There's gotta be a way to relieve them of some steaks."

Kenzi had three different paychecks, but that all didn't add up to much.

"It should! Some of us might be already on the run. Indefinitely. Sort of."

[No worries! And good luck!]

"What is the phrase?" Surreal asked, racking her brain for the few pop-culture things she'd picked up. "'Amen, Sister?' Something like that? Although I prefer to think of it as running towards something better, instead of away from something."

Kenzi pointed at her with one hand, and slipped licorice into an inner pocket with the other. "You got it. And yeah. Just because I don't have a 'plan' yet--" She rolled her eyes on plan, and continued. "--doesn't mean that it's not already better than the last place. We so deserve extra credit."

"'A plan never survives the first encounter with the enemy,'" Surreal recited, rolling her eyes as she parroted Sadi. "Over-rated. A plan can be predicted. I prefer being unpredictable."

Which meant she had to go around the corner to the small selection of canned soups and vanish a half-dozen. "I can probably stash a few more things before straining myself," she said. Surreal really preferred not to draw on her Green unless she needed to do so. "We got priorities?"

"Just non-perishable," and you couldn't say Cheetos were perishable, "so that's good. Hmm. Maybe something kids would like, we're supposed to give this away too. Me, I always liked Spaghetti-O's." Kenzi tucked a couple cans up her voluminous sleeves, and peeked around one aisle to see how the distraction was going. "Unpredictable, yes! Why is that so under-valued?"

Surreal followed Kenzi's gaze with a smirk. "That your partner?" she asked, looking back to squint at the 'Spaghetti-O's'. They looked...weird. But edible? So two cans got vanished.

"There's a couple of us here," Kenzi admitted very quietly. "Anarchy Club. All these stores are usually big chains, and they can afford to lose the stock, so..."

Never mind that Turtle & Canary wasn't, really.

"I have no idea what an anarchy club is," Surreal admitted cheerfully, "-but I've behaved myself for an acceptable period of time. A girl has to exercise her life-skills, even at school."

"Cool!" Kenzi grinned at Surreal, a bit less intimidated by her outside of classes, now that she was acting like Kenzi's kind of people. She grabbed a few Snickers bars and shoved them in her pockets. "I'll show you where we're meeting up after. Hopefully nobody gets pinched."
