Library, Thursday [01/19]

Technically, Billy was where he was supposed to be, settled in behind the front desk in the library. The fact that he was sitting on the floor, wrapped up in a blanket with a stack of comic books was just a result of the week he'd had so far. There'd been intoxication and thievery from hot Mounties and half-ownership of a penguin and look, it was his shift, and he could build himself a blanket fort if he wanted to.

"Hush!" Billy said, from underneath the blanket again. "I am fully capable of taking care of myself!"

Said the boy hiding in a fort.

"Oh yes, I can see that, Blanket Fort Boy," Mercy teased.

"It's nice and warm in here!" Billy said, peeking out at Mercy again. "And if I never got drunk, I wouldn't own a penguin. I mean, I don't really own the penguin, I guess, since it's not here, but it's still mine in general."

"Roommate goes all the way to - where did you go again?" Mercy asked teasingly. "And not only didn't he buy me a penguin, I didn't even get a stupid t-shirt!"

"We went to...somewhere in Canada I can't pronounce," Billy said. "And we didn't get to keep the penguins, much to Topher's sadness."
