Angela gets to the library early, and blearily wonders why there still isn't a coffeemaker around.

She props herself behind the counter, and looks through the books that need to be reshelved, hoping to find something she wants to read. Or maybe she's just looking at the pictures. It's early.

The library is now open for all your library-type needs.

Sam blinks a couple of times wondering what exactly he did to this person.

"Uh, Why would I be upset?" Sam said politely.

"I don't know, why would you be?" Angela sniffs. "But what am I supposed to think, when we have this whole ... moment ... on Friday, and then you go right back to avoiding me?"

"You know what, don't answer. I can take a hint."

She retreats behind the desk.

"Avoiding you? I-" Sam blinks a few times and follows whom he is now sure is Angela behind her desk. "Angela, I'm sorry, but I thought that you might have needed some space. That's all."

Granted Sam was pulling that out of nowhere and it seemed kind of trite.

"Besides, it's not like I've seen a lot of you lately. It goes both ways."

Angela folds her arms skeptically. "Okay, so I haven't come to look for you lately. But I spent, like, half of Sunday on your floor," she points out. "AND you didn't call me back. I mean, even if you didn't send the flower..."

Her voice trails off. "Sorry. It's still weird, huh?"

Sam shoved his hands into his jeans and sighed. "Well after Friday night I was pretty exhausted from everything that happened and.. well I don't have any excuse why I didn't call you back. Sorry.

Sam then straighted out his t-shirt and made a mental note to have Al get the voicemail password from Marty next time he saw him.

"It's okay," Angela says wearily. Then, noticing his outfit: "Is everything you own at the cleaners or something? Not that you look bad, or anything, just different."

"Just felt like being comfortable," Sam replied. "Besides most of my clothes are scattered about campus at the moment. Apparently Parker isn't too happy with me."

Angela raises her eyebrows. "Can you blame her? Stealing her rabbit was nasty, and mean, and flat-out stupid. I'm not helping her, but you kind of have whatever she does coming."

"Besides, I TOLD you to just leave her alone, remember?"

"I seem to have a talent for making people mad at me, don't I?" Sam said more in frustration than anything else. "I don't suppose there's any way I can call her off without making her even more mad?"

"Don't do it again?" Angela suggests, the wind taken a little out of her sails because, for once, Marty isn't being defensive. "I think she's going to do what she's going to do, mostly. You tried apologizing, right?"

"I did try. Right before she put her shoe on my throat, not the best way to leap... I mean greet the morning," Sam replied. "You think she might like flowers?"

Angela shrugs. "Maybe. Or jewelry. Rory got out of something with chocolate, last week."

She makes a face. "But mostly? She's gonna do what she wants to do. I mean, what did yopu expect, taking Esme."

"Oh boy," Sam sighs. "So throwing my clothes off the top of the dorm is just the beginning, huh?"

Angela nods, slowly, wincing a little.

"Let me put it this way. If Camilla was still around, Parker would be having Kentuky Fried Muppet for dinner tonight."

She buries her face in her hands. "I hate this. I hate this. I'm sorry. I could go to Principal Finn, I guess -- you might both get detention, but, god, if that would mean an end to this bullshit it'd be completely worth it."

"No. No," Sam said with a sigh and a wave of his hand. "I did the crime, I should pay for it. Plus getting Parker into more trouble will just mean a death sentence later on."

Maybe if he timed it right before he lept...

"That's true," Angela agrees, with a tiny smile. "But try to stay out of her way, okay?"

"I'll do me best. From what I can tell, she's not to be trifled with," Sam says returning the smile.

Angela is enjoying the smile too much to notice the odd phrasing. "Not at all," she says, glancing down and tucking her hair behind her ear. "Be careful, and all that, okay?"

"I will. Don't worry, okay?" Sam says as he waves goodbye.
