Library, 02/07

Angela gets to the library early, and blearily wonders why there still isn't a coffeemaker around.

She props herself behind the counter, and looks through the books that need to be reshelved, hoping to find something she wants to read. Or maybe she's just looking at the pictures. It's early.

The library is now open for all your library-type needs.

"Serenade?" Bel flailed his arms. "Singing helped get me into this mess in the first place!"

"Well then obviously you were singing the wrong song," Sam replied. "Look, if you really care about the girl, you need to do something big. Like write a poem or send flowers. That'll help, but the singing? It's big. You're totally putting yourself out there on display."

"What do I sing?" Bel said, still looking unhappy with the prospect. "Flowers I can do. Poetry, not so much."

"Maybe you could go to the guy who teaches my poetry class. He can help you with the poem, if he's in the mood," Sam suggested. "As for the song, I'm sure this karaoke place has a song catalog."

Bel peered at Marty suspiciously. "How can I be sure this isn't some sort of trick to get me to embarrass myself?" he said. "I still don't get why you're trying to help me and Phoebe get back together."

"Well it's not a trick. There is something to the fact that you'll be embarassing yourself, but you're doing it for her. Right? Isn't this what it's all about?" Sam replied. "And if my goal is to get you and Phoebe back together, does it really matter that it'll help me leap to another person what my motivation is?"

Bel's brow furrowed as he tried to work out if what Marty said was sincere. "Can you get Phoebe there?" he asked. "Serenading her won't work if she's not there."

Sam pulled out his cell phone and after getting the number from nearby school directory leaves a message for Phoebe. (http://future-visions.livejournal.com/2573.html?thread=656653#t656653)

"Phoebe? It's Sa- Marty. I have some questions regarding our paranormal homework and I *don't* feel comfortable talking to the TA, which I'm sure you can understand.

Can you meet me at Caritas after classes?"

Sam looks over at Belthazor. "See? No problem."

"That works," Bel said, allowing himself to smirk. "Okay. I'll go see Professor Chaucer, get some flowers and...sing." He suppressed a shudder. "This had better work, Marty. And if it does, I won't kill you for what you did Friday night. Consider us even."
