"Welcome, everyone. Veronica, thank you for covering class last week."

*handwave* Grissom launches into a lecture on Gang Violence *handwave*

"Now, as I mentioned, gangs tend to adopt colors, or other means of identification. For discussion today, I'd like you to describe a gang symbol that you have seen, whether in your life or through the media, and discuss why you believe it was or is used by that group."

Homework: Read Community and Institutional Responses to the Youth Gang Problem by Irving A. Spergel and Ron L. Chance.

Sociology of the Paranormal: 6th Period

"Hello, class. Bel, I appreciate your efforts last week, covering the class. I have also recorded all your grades from the quiz."

Grissom then give Marty a sorrowful look. A C-? Woe.

*handwave* Grissom launches into a lecture on Out-of-Body Experiences *handwave*

"Now unfortunately, I'm not allowed to give you all ketamine or put you through extreme sensory deprivation or a near death experience, so we can't replicate the condition as a lab assignment," Grissom says with a grin, because seriously, drugs are bad and he's obviously kidding.

"However, as out-of-body experiences are far more prevalent than many other types of paranormal activity, if any of you have had these experiences, or know someone who has, I'd like you to share. And if not, I'd ask you to discuss why or why not you believe in the concept."

Homework: Grissom hands out a packet to read for Wednesday. Very. Serious. Reading. Kind of. Also, please bring your jackets and weather appropriate clothes. As long as it doesn't rain, we'll be outside.

Paige signs in with a large puppy close on her heels, and by close I mean he's attacking them, but he is good honest!

She looks around to explain to Grissom why she has said dog.

Grissom spots Paige and the dog, and approaches them, a soft smile on his lips.

"Good afternoon, Paige. Unless your dog is trained for assistance, or there's another emergency, I'm afraid I can't allow it in the lab for safety reasons, as well as because of the other students.

Didn't want to leave him alone yet?" he asks, bending to get a good luck at the puppy.

She looks at Cash trying to work out if he could possibly be trained at anything yet as he sniffs at Grissom's hand wagging his tail enthusiastically, "well he's a pretty good alarm clock if you don't mind being licked, but actually he's not mine. He's sort of Geoff's, erm Professor Chaucer's only he's away and I'm looking after. He's kinda been through a few things, Cash, not Geoff and I didn't want him to feel like I'd abandoned him, is there anywhere I could put him?"

Grissom turns his hand over slowly, and gives Cash an enthusiastic pat on the head, before standing up.

"Sure, of course. I didn't realize Geoff wasn't in his office today," he muses absent-mindedly, pulling keys out of his pocket.

"My office is now baby-proofed, so why don't you bring him in there during class? He'll be alone, but only for a short while, and you can leave the door to the kitchen open so he has a good amount of space. I even have dog food for my bugs, it's under the sink, if you put some out he'll probably feel more comfortable. Grab a few bowls from the cabinet. Okay?"

She smiles and reaches down to Cash, "Thank you very much sir, I really appreciate it, hopefully Geoff'll be back tonight then I won't have to drag him around with me all the time." she says going towards the office to make Cash comfy and making a mental note to buy Grissom presents, very good presents.
