Library [2/6/2006]

Parker opened the library, and started making plans. She may have been drinking a lot of coffee.

Vala looks up at Parker, her eyes narrowing a bit. "It'd be going a whole lot better if people hadn't kept me in the dark about certain extracurriculars last Friday night."

"I found out that night when I walked into the room to check on a very drunk Cam who'd passed out at the party, and instead I found him wide awake, covered in bruises, with his arm in a sling," Vala hissed. "And from what I've heard half the second floor was there, including practically everyone I know at this school, so spare me the bit about 'keeping it small'."

Parker held up her hands. "It was supposed to stay small, okay? It got out of control." She sighed, and palmed her face. "I didn't tell anyone who didn't find out on their own, for whatever it's worth. If I'd had my way, we'd have been less about a dozen people on it." She eyed Vala warily. "Probably including Cam in there, but he was impossible to kick out."

"Impossible?" Vala scowled. "What, you though that Darla bitch should have a chance at him too?"

"No! Jesus. But it was his idea. If we'd tried to tell him he couldn't go, he just would've gone on his own without us and gotten hurt!" Parker looked exasperated. "Do you have any idea how pissed off he was on your behalf?"

Parker sighed. "Honestly? I was so insanely busy last week, I assumed Mitchell would've told you. By the time I suspected he hadn't, I didn't want to get in the middle of it. So, if you want to hate me for that, hate me for backing out of other people's relationship crap. You're someone I know couldn've done a good job helping, even if you weren't up to going along."

"Fine." Vala said, picking up her stuff. "It just happened that no one I knew happened to mention anything about it in front of me for a whole week, even though they thought I knew. Whatever."

She made a disgusted noise as she swept out of the library.
