Parker opened the library, and started making plans. She may have been drinking a lot of coffee.

"Someone's *perky*," Parker observed. "Happy Monday."

"Good morning," Rory chirped. "How are you?"

"Contemplating revenge. And thus, very well. You, on the other hand, are only missing the animated birds to be mistaken for Snow White. What gives?"

Rory shrugged. "Had a good weekend. All my friends are alive and all, you know."

Parker narrowed her eyes and studied her. "No, no. This is more than I-have-coffee, I-love-books, Everyone-survived-high. Something's up. Spill."

Rory blushed, and shrugged again. "I'm just happy. I'm allowed to be happy, aren't I?"

"You're also allowed to blush." Parker leaned forward, grinning. "Oh, my."

"What?" Rory asked, confused. "I blush a lot."

"This isn't a joy-in-learning blush. Someone got some smoooochies," Parker sang, watching Rory's face.

Rory cleared her throat.

"You know as well as I do that I'm not seeing anyone, Parker," Rory said, turning an even deeper red.

Parker's snickering turned into full-fledged chortles.

Rory just blushed even more, and mumbled, "It's just a nice day, that's all."

"Seriously?" Parker folded her arms. "No particular progress in an on-going game of ... baseball? Made recently?"

"Parker!" Rory's eyes went wide. "No! That...no. I mean, yes, but that's not why I'm happy. Wait. I mean, no, I don't play baseball, and you know that."

"Ah. So, the game is still in progress, no runs, no outs--" Parker started laughing again. "No errors? In your game of fantasy baseball? Since it's not real."

"In my game of fantasy baseball, everything's going fine," Rory said. Then she muttered something that might have sounded like, "And there's a runner on second."

"Sooo, neither of you are playing shortstop yet? To switch teams in this metaphor," Parker asked with a grin.

"I don't even know what that means," Rory groaned.

"Ah. Then I won't explain it to you." Parker grinned. "It's more fun if you find out with someone else anyway."

"But what if it happens and I don't know it's called that?" Rory asked. "What if it's already happened, and I'm just dumb?"
