Parker opened the library, and started making plans. She may have been drinking a lot of coffee.

Parker rolled her eyes. "God, that's coming up, isn't it. I'm not going to be subjected to your asinine teasing on the subject for a week, am I?"

"Maybe," John says, shrugging. "Maybe you can convince me not to tease you though."

"How? Because I know the stupid dance is going to be the 17th, and that'll draw out this silliness even longer."

"Hmm." John smiles and opens the pack of Sweethearts so he can eat one. "You know Professor Skeeter?"

"I hate Professor Skeeter." She glared at him. "She's made some of the same assumptions about my love life that *you* have. Why?"

"Well, we have something in common then," John says. "She turned me into a monkey. If you dedicate the schmoopiest, sappiest, most romantic song to her and her husband via the radio during her broadcast, which I think is tonight, I won't make fun of your love life during Valentine's week."

Parker grinned slowly. "John-boy? We have a deal. *I* don't have classes with her." She took one of the candies and popped it in her mouth. "What's her husband's name?"

"Wilbur Rufus Skeeter," John says, smiling. "Well, I've got something else planned for her class tomorrow. Might get me turned into an animal again but you only live once, you know."

Parker wrinkled her nose. "I would swear you were starting to like it, Crichton. Honestly, isn't it supposed to be a punishment?"

"Eh, doesn't bother me," John says. "Poor Professor Skeeter is just covering her love for her absent husband. I can deal with being turned into an animal in the name of love."

Parker chortled. "And Aeryn's okay with dating a monkey? Amazing relationship you two have, really."

"Well, Professor Skeeter, I believe, is obligated to turn me back into myself or risk that cruel and unsual punishment thing," John says. "C'mon, after all I've already done, being a monkey wouldn't phase her."

"There is that. God bless the American legal system for protecting us from uppity Brits." Parker smirked. "I suppose Aeryn already knew what she got into when she started dating *you*. You're already different species, so one more change can't matter that much."

"Oh Parkie, I can hear the love in your voice when you talk about me," John grins and leans on the counter. "But, alas, I am taken by one who would kill me if I tried."

Parker rolled her eyes and shoved at his arm. "Are sure Professor Skeeter isn't *breaking* an enchantment that turned a monkey into a human? It would explain a lot."

"You love me, you know it," John says, batting his eyelashes. "Admitting it is the hardest part."

"Like you wouldn't run screaming if I ever took you up on that?" Parker snorted. "Scram, Crichton. Or there'll be another dedication on the radio-- 'They're Coming to Take Me Away'."
