This is one of those vaguely abstract problems she wasn't every good at. In real life, she'd just make or buy more pizza so everybody could have as much as they wanted...
She pretty sure that it's either "A" or "E" but she can't decide... The lower half of the paper she turns in is covered with the letters "A" and "E" which are circled, or stared, and then slashed, crossed out, or poorly erased. As if she went A... No E... No, E is wrong, it's A... Or is it E? Maybe it is A... But what it's E? And so on.
It is difficult to discern what her final answer is in all this.

She guesses "The longer side is twice the lenght of the shorter one" and turns the paper in.

However, he spends the entire class period referring to his book and eventually turns in this (http://www.qbyte.org/puzzles/p001s.html) answer.
Sometimes being pigheaded pays off.
