Duncan has kendo staves and wooden swords.

"Okay, we'll drill a bit more with staves, but I wanted you to see what we're working toward. And that is, what a piece of wood can do against a blade." He grins fiercely.

"Anyone who knows their way around a sword willing to volunteer a bit?"

"They weren't bad," Ivanova said with a nonchalant shrug that wasn't very nonchalant due to the matching "bruise". She twitched her knee away from his hands. "Don't worry about it. It'll be fine soon enough."
