"It's alright," he replied, somewhat morosely. Then, he felt his phone vibrate, and realized that he had missed a call. After he heard the message, though, he was in better spirits.

"Sorry, that was Walter," he explained, putting the phone away. "How's your pretty boy doing?"

[ooc: Sorry for the wait. LJ was being odd.]

"Dude!" exclaimed Anders, somehow looking both amused and slightly horrified. "I don't keep tabs on him. I try not to know, actually. Seriously, man, Kennedy and I do not get along. At all. Cally, on the other hand, is doing great."

He propped his chin up on his elbows and asked, "Hey, where is Walter, anyway?"

[OOC: No worries. I'm kinda stuck to slowplay due to work anyway.]

"He's off with Nadia," he explained, and took a bite of lunch. "So how long have you and Cally been together? Don't you guys run that ABC thing with Bridge?"

It still felt weird saying Bridge's name without some sort of emotional fanfare. Well, without much emotional fanfare, anyway. He suddenly felt guilty, and took a sip of soda to hopefully swallow the pain. It didn't work.

"Yep, ABC Damage Control, that's us: Anders, Bridge, and Cally. We do little fix-it jobs for people and occasionally get to build stuff. Well, Cally and Bridge mostly do the building, and I usually haul stuff around or just stand around and look like I kinda know what I'm doing." True to form, Anders was more or less oblivious to Victor's reaction to Bridge's name. "That all started one night when we were broke and hungry, and went to this Halloween party in town just 'cause there was free food, and ended up almost getting eaten by plants ourselves."

"How long?" Anders was surprised to realize he actually had to think about it. He tapped his fork absentmindedly against the edge of his tray as he ran the figures in his head, which took a little bit thanks to the difficulty he continued to have with pesky Earth calendar systems. "Wow. Four months on the fourteenth. It all sorta blended into 'feels like forever' a while back, though."

Victor couldn't help but smirk. "Yeah, it feels like Walter and I've been together forever, too, even though it's only been, what, four weeks?" He shook his head in disbelief. "Then again, when you're used to your home being burned down, your friends being injured, and an evil dictator rising from the dead all within a week, you tend to lose track of time."

Anders nearly choked on a mouthful of milk at the seemingly casual way Victor recited that list of occurrences. "Yeah, uh, I can totally see how you'd lose track of time that way. Holy frak, dude, what did you do before you came here?"

"He was just your everyday mutant student," Walter interjected, dropping into a seat next to Victor.

"Walter. Hey, man," said Anders, waving vaguely with his fork. "It's not like he's the only mutant student here either, but dude," he said, turning back to Victor, "I thought this place was eventful."

Victor sighed. he had forgotten that not everyone at Fandom was from his world. "Before I came here, I went to Xavier's, a school for mutants like me. It's also a base for a group of superheroes called the X-Men. Since it's their home, and it's basically training new heroes, a lot of bad guys tend to attack it. Imagine Fandom High with a snowman battle every month or sometimes every week and you'll get a idea of what my old school was like."

Anders laughed and took a bite of chicken. "See, and some people from this planet look at me weird for being from a completely different one. No wonder you're taking things here so much in stride." He took another bite, and chewed slowly for a bit, thinking. "Mutant, huh? You're not the only one here either, y'know."

[OOC: No worries. I got completely sucked up in some stuff at work until just now, myself.]

"Yeah, I know Molly is. Is there anyone else?"

"Well, not that I know of at the moment. Used to be, though." Anders chewed on the tines of his fork a little bit, trying to remember that newspaper article from last semester. "There was this cool guy named Hank. Big blue guy, really smart. And a girl named Rogue. They're both gone now. Oh, but you know Jake Gavin? Quirky dude, loves coffee? Him too. There was a weird thing a week or so ago where I found, like, a tiny little version of him wandering around. Still not sure what that's about, 'cause from what I can tell he's all back to normal now."

[OOC: And now it's my turn to apologize since I was on my way home from work.]

"Oh yeah...Jake..." he blushed, remembering the interesting conversation he ahd had with the other boy weeks ago.

He turned to Walter, changing the subject. "Um, so...how'd it go?"

"We found Furball. It was not too difficult. He would not come out with Pup around, though."

"Yeah, I don't think morphy cats and hellpuppies really get along." He looked at Walter's face and winced a little. "Y'know, I might have something for those."

Really, the worst of it wasn't the sting, it was having everyone see his face like that.

"At the moment, I would try almost anything."

"Stop by ou-my room later and I'll see what I can do."

Shit...why do I keep saying that? he thought, stuffing his mout with lunch.

Anders caught the verbal slip and gave Victor a sympathetic grin. He could remember exactly when he'd started doing the same thing.

Victor saw the grin, and after Walter left, looked down at his suddenly interesting plate. "What?"

Anders shook his head, still grinning, and rearranged a few grains of rice on his plate. "Nothin' really. Just made me realize I can't remember the last time I thought of my room as, you know, mine and not mine and Cally's. 'course it's officially both of ours now, but I mean before that."

Victor was suddenly interested in the conversation. "You two live together?"

"Yep, room 201," said Anders, nodding. "It just sorta happened, really. More and more of her stuff kept ending up in my room and we just decided we might as well. It's worked out pretty good, even though the room's kinda small."

He laughed. "That's why I have the weird keypad lock on my door. 'cause I never did figure out how to make her a copy of my key."

"I asked Dean Zordon," Vcitor smirked. "But..we don't really live together. I mean, he ahs my room, and I have mine. But..." He paused, then leaned in and lowered his voice. "I like falling asleep next to him. I mean...it's so confusing sometimes. We've only known each other since the first week here, and we're only fourteen. But...I love him, y'know? Not in a "diamonds are forever" kinda way, but...in my own way. 'Like' isn't strong enough of a word..."

"Bye. See you later." he waved as his boyfriend left.
