Shop Class, Wednesday Morning

Sam was sitting on the desk when everyone arrived. The classroom had already been set to resemble a kitchen and a pile of fresh groceries was sitting on one of the counters.

"Morning, guys. Mac's not here, so you get stuck with me for the day. Unfortunately, I can't really do much because of the stupid snow monsters, so I had to improvise. We've done a lot this semester about using science and ingenuity to get ourselves out of dangerous or hazardous situations, but they can be used other places, too."

She gestured to the kitchen and the food, smiling.

"Your assignment for the day, should you choose to accept it, is to make yourself breakfast. The twist? There has to be something about either the food or the way you cook it that is creative in the way of our esteemed, if absent, leader."

"Have fun, and the fire extinguisher's in the corner if you need it."

Izzie decides to go simple and relatively classic and make scrambled eggs, bacon, blueberry muffins, and freshly squeezed orange juice. To make the eggs and bacon she grabs an pan and cracks the eggs into it. Whisking them with a fork, Izzie goes to get some welding tools. She uses the flame to heat the underside of the pan, and successfully scrambles the eggs.

After sliding the eggs onto a plate she repeats the same process with the bacon. Adding the bacon to her plate, she looks around for the appropriate ingredients for the blueberry muffins.

She makes a nice muffin tin out of duct tape and gently pours the batter into the tin. Placing the tin on the pan, Izzie uses the welding tools again to "bake" the muffins.

Finally she uses a swiss army knife to cut several oranges in half. Grabbing a cup and a vise grip, she squeezes the oranges until she has a whole cup of juice.

She glances around the room. She made more than enough food for everyone, so she decides to share.

"Nice job, Izzie! Extra credit for not singeing off your own eyebrows with the blowtorch." She frowned slightly. "If I can give out extra credit, which I'm not sure about. I'll have to get back to you on that."
