Shop Class, Wednesday Morning

Sam was sitting on the desk when everyone arrived. The classroom had already been set to resemble a kitchen and a pile of fresh groceries was sitting on one of the counters.

"Morning, guys. Mac's not here, so you get stuck with me for the day. Unfortunately, I can't really do much because of the stupid snow monsters, so I had to improvise. We've done a lot this semester about using science and ingenuity to get ourselves out of dangerous or hazardous situations, but they can be used other places, too."

She gestured to the kitchen and the food, smiling.

"Your assignment for the day, should you choose to accept it, is to make yourself breakfast. The twist? There has to be something about either the food or the way you cook it that is creative in the way of our esteemed, if absent, leader."

"Have fun, and the fire extinguisher's in the corner if you need it."

Nadia wondered briefly if the Macguyver version of cooking meant eating burnt duct tape.

She opted for the eggs instead. Of course, scrambled eggs were both easy and boring, so she started adding things. A little milk. Sweet red peppers. Onions. Cheese. Spinach. Bacon bits. Tobasco. Green peppers. Cucumber. Sweet corn. More tobasco. Salt and pepper. Diced apple. Carrots. Lots of tobasco. Chocolate chips. Sliced almonds. Wayyyy too much tobasco. A touch of vanilla extract. And some chili powder, for flavor.

At the last minute, she grabbed Xander's left over banana and added that to the mix, as well.

Then she added several more eggs to compensate for the additional ingredients.

And yes, she might still be a little high from the brownies last night. What of it?

Her tribute to Mac was using tin foil to make her frying pan tall enough to handle the mass of ingredients.

"Thanks." Nadia sampled some of her own creation. Her eyes watered immediately. Perfect. "I call it 'the wake up call'."

Nadia smirked. "You wanna try some?" She held out a spoon full of "wake up call".

Nadia munched away happily, apparently entirely unaware that her creation should by all rights be putting her into a coma, or at the very least causing her to have a need for pepto bismal.

The wonders of a teenaged, South American street kid stomach.
