The Library is Open (01/30)

Rory's sitting behind the desk, tapping a pen against it and obviously deep in thought.

She's here for all your library aide needs, however.

Zero is also not here, having run off to Creature Languages. She left the smutty pirate-and-ninja novel behind, however.

Parker's giggling while reading the novel.

"Oh, my orchid of desire," she mutters. "Wanna see my crow's nest? Who writes these things...?"

Elizabeth headed into the library after psych. "Hey, Parker. How's the ankle?"

"Still a little sore, but much better. Alanna Trebond did a healing... thing, on it, and it's only a little sore now." She smiled at Liz. "What's up with you?"

"That's good," she replied. "And not much really. Just had psych, which got me thinking about a few things. Which, I guess, is good."

"What kind of things?" Parker put the adventures of the ninja and pirate aside to listen.

Elizabeth hesitated, glancing around to check that there was no one within hearing range.

"Things of a past life," she said softly. "We were looking at pictures, and there was one of Georgia O'Keeffe's which hangs in the National Gallery. I used to go there when I lived in D.C. It's supposed to be clouds and the sky. But the clouds can be seen as snow, which makes me think of Antarctica and then Atlantis."

She shrugged. "Things of another lifetime ago."

"You're missing it." Parker perched her chin on her hands. "And it's not like it *was* an entire lifetime ago."

Elizabeth nodded. "I do, yes. But it's not just that. I miss being an adult. I miss being the teacher, instead of being the student."

"I'd guess you would." Parker tilted her head. "I'm guessing that maybe helping me with my Russian study isn't enough?"

Elizabeth laughed slightly. "No offense, Parker, but that's something I could have done at this age the first time around," she said. "But it'll be something, so I'll be glad to help."

Parker studied her for a second. "I wish I could help." Friday's plan might need more support people... or it might not. Maybe she'd ask Liz, the closer they got to the event. "Are you going to go back there, when you can? Back to... Colorado, and points south?"

Peter took a seat in the library and once again started to look over the Constitution for Government class.

"Hey, you. Get into trouble this weekend?" Parker asked, tapping on his book cover.

Re: Fourth Period

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-01-30 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"I wouldn't say 'trouble'," Peter said, looking up from his book. "My secret was blown, but most people don't seem to care unless I say the S-word."

"How'd you do with the fighting on Saturday?"

Re: Fourth Period

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-30 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Parker rolled her eyes. "Blown how? And I told you that was inevitable." She made a face. "My ankle got busted and my head knocked around early in the proceedings. I missed everything except Logan Echolls' house getting eaten."

Re: Fourth Period

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-01-30 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"What do you mean 'blown how?'" Peter asked. "This time last week nobody knew. Now people know I'm an idiot for fighting evil snowmen without a weapon, but I only got bruised up. The secret is blown, generally speaking."

"At least I'm best in show, according to the radio."

"Sorry to hear that about you, though. Doing better now?"

Re: Fourth Period

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-30 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"I missed the radio, Petey Boy. But thanks for clearing that up. 'Best in show'? That had to be John, I'm thinking." She palmed her face, but she was grinning. "So. How did you take them out, without a weapon? And yeah, I'm fine. Alanna did a healing thingie, and I'm just a bit bruised and sore."

Re: Fourth Period

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-01-30 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, that was John. He sounded like he really needed some sleep," Peter shrugged.

"I actually did use some weapons, actually. Angel had us using flaming stakes, which was kind of fun. That and tree branches. Other than that, I just jumped in there and hit them." Peter Parker was not exactly a master of strategy.

Parker gave him a dubious look. "Ah. And this is the usual battle plan, in your reality?"

Re: Fourth Period

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-01-30 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter made a quick mental list of superheroes in his dimension. He could only think of a couple other heroes who didn't either fight with weapons or at least long-range powers. And they either weren't fighters or they were built like tanks.

"Yep," he said. "We're a barbaric people."

"You're so full of it." Parker shook her head. "There's a thing. On Friday. A-- study group, similar to the snow monsters. Do you want in? It sounds like you might enjoy it."

Re: Fourth Period

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-01-30 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"A study session, huh?" Peter thought about it briefly, then answered, "I think I have to pass. Snow-monsters aside, I am trying to cut back on my... studying. It's for my own good, I think."

Re: Fourth Period

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-01-30 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Parker looked disappointed, but shrugged. "Fair enough. Let me know if you change your mind, though. Or talk to Aeryn or Angel about it." She smiled. "So how does being out of the superhero closet without spandex feel?"
