The Tick entered the Danger Shop, carrying some coffees and with Lockheed trailing behind. The shop had been programmed to look just like his classroom because he was prepared to inflict the deepest punishment he could think to inflict upon a person; he was going to lecture them today.

As the students filed in, The Tick pointed them towards the sign-in sheet.

Once everyone was in and seated, he began to speak.

"Hello, students. You kids have either earned - or in your case, Togusa, had the bad luck to be randomly selected - your time here today. I have coffee, notebooks, and pens for you today. I'm going to lecture you this morning, and then after lunch, you'll be expected to write about what you heard. I'd suggest taking good notes so your essays shine."

[OOC: During the lectures take notes, pass notes (although you will get caught at a certain point), ask questions afterwards, whatever. Lockheed may mock you. There will be a short essay at the end of detention. And the fact that there are no threads after Lunch right now? Means absolutely nothing, really. As for timeframe... well, who can predict these things, really? You'll know when it's over.]

Neatly, so I can read it, please.

"I know that at least two of you are in here for the destruction of school property. I've destroyed a lot of property in my time. It comes with being a superhero. Being thrown into buildings. Jumping around on buildings. Throwing parts of buildings at bad guys. Or mailboxes. Or street signs. Fire hydrants are surprisingly aerodynamic, really."

"Anyway, that's all good when fighting evil. But when hanging out in the dorms, it's unacceptable. Unless it's actually your property. Or if you have permission, like when I helped knock down a wall to turn two rooms into a big suite."

"Anyway, be more careful with that kind of stuff and you won't get into trouble anymore."

"Three of you are here because you showed a lack of respect for other people, two of those other people being each other. Now, you don't always have to respect some people. That can be impossible. I don't respect some of my villains, for example, because they are just WAY too weird. And evil."

"But that doesn't mean you should treat them poorly! You should always show respect even if you have to fake it. I pretend that all of my villains are equal threats, even if they are just a big guy with a zipper for a neck. Or a man-eating cow."

"What does that mean? It means no beating each other up in public! Unless one of you is doing evil and the other of you is fighting for Justice. But even that you should try to talk things through first."

"It also means that you shouldn't mock authority figures to their face. It's just rude."

"Anyway, remember, respect others."

"Karma is a harsh mistress. You think that you and she have a good relationship, that everything is going well. And when that's going well, then everything is going well. And then, suddenly, Karma decides to balance things out and you find that nothing is going well."

"It's a pain, but it's the way of the world. It's why Good and Evil are in an eternal struggle. Either Good or Evil can have the upper hand for a while and all looks sunny... or gloomy, depending on your stance at the fine line between the two. But then, something knocks it all askew!"

"Things here can be going just fine, but then you get picked in a random lottery and sent to detention. Worry not, though! You ended up in detention with me. Nothing karmically bad will happen to you when I'm here, except for maybe hand cramps when you're writing this afternoon."

"Anyway, remember, Karma can be a big meanie."

"Well, I think we've earned a break. Once we're done eating, I'll start explaining the essay topics."

Part of the room transformed into a diner. Whether the cook was NPC or a hologram was unimportant. The important thing is that the food was real. Go ahead and order any typical diner food, talk, do what you will.

Togusa signed in.

Han Solo

The Tick looked at his detention list. Then at the student who had just signed his name. "Excuse me chum, but you're not on my list. Are you supposed to be here?"

[OOC: Seriously, I don't have you on my list. Nobody submitted Han's name to the office. Are you supposed to be here?]

Goes here, breaking the flow of any after-lunch activities.

Looking cranky yet oddly well-rested, Anders signs in.

Archie signs in and sits as far across the room from Anders as possible.

Han looks puzzled.

"I thought I was. I had three detentions this month: one for the bathroom, one for the pool and one for giving Professor Skeeter a hard time in the first one (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/512821.html?thread=24132405#t24132405). But hey, if I don't have to, I'm hauling jets."

"Huh. Well, the paperwork apparently fell through on that. If you want to serve the detention, you're perfectly welcome to, but you don't have to. Showing up when you apparently didn't have to shows your commitment to righting your wrongs, I think."

[OOC: I went back and checked the office and there was nada. So once again, the OOC statements reflects the IC statement. So I have decreed it. *gives a modly nod*]

"Thank you, sir," Han says standing up. "But I have some homework calling for me."

He stands up and leaves.

Anders nods and, from what Ed had told him, knows that the Tick is talking about the Elrics. He's pretty much mainlining his coffee, and doodling little stick figures in the margins of his notes. They seem to include a lot of decapitated heads with funny-looking hats. But largely they just look like half-random scribbles, because it's hard to get stick figures to really look gory.

He is actually writing down notes, though:

Togusa is nodding at the correct times, but has downloaded songs to keep away the earworm of Iron Butterfly. He now is a walking Ipod.

He's also writing notes down.

Building destruction is okay. How the hell do you toss them? Perhaps a demolition test that includes a timed attack on a building by using a mini tank? Check with tachikoma to see what it thinks about this.

Throwing stuff at bad guys is fine, check out different types of projectiles to use. Also clarify the definition of "Bad Guy"

Alphonse signed in, sniveling and tired. He probably should've thought about it more before playing in the snow during such early hours.

Alphonse wanted to protest that it wasn't like they intened to blow up a room-- Far from it. They did anyway, so he kept his mouth shut.
