[[Sorry. Ran out of braaaaaaaaains. So you get the cheap-o lecture today.]]

Upon entering the class, students will notice that the sarcophagus is gone. The bottom drawer of his filing cabinet is also empty, but they wouldn't know that without snooping.

"Feasgar math, a chlas," Camulus begins. "I hope you have at least read Geoffrey of Monmouth for today's class, as I expect you to provide some sort of opinion on the reading. But first . . ."

Camulus delivers a lecture on 'The History of the Kings of Britain' as a bit of background for their studies.

"Your turn. Share."

Kawalsky entered the classroom and immediately noticed that the sarcophagus was gone. This wasn't good. This meant he couldn't keep an eye on it. He needed to do some investigating. But first he had to get through this class.

Camulus smirks at him. "Mr. Kawalsky? Would you like to give your opinion of the text, or are you too busy staring at the corner?"

"I'm too busy staring at the corner."

"That's 'I'm too busy staring at the corner, sir'."

[[*is ded from laugh* *line provided by saner straight lover*]]

"You don't need to call me sir, but thanks for the show of respect."

That gets Phoebe's undivided attention as she tries to puzzle this out.

"Was I being respectful? I still haven't quite gotten the hang of your Earth customs. I never imagined I'd have to."

"What a shame, being stuck here with us. I'll bet that's a real blow to the old ego, Cammie. You should get a book about our customs so you can try to fit in more. You look like the lost member of the Village People."

The insult would probably have more effect if Camulus knew who the Village People were. He rose from his desk, his eyes flaring and his voice going even more Goa'uldy. If even possible.

"You are my student in my classroom. I would tell you to keep a civil tongue but such a concept is foreign to you and your lot. You will call me by my full name even if you refuse my title. And you will consider all of this while in detention on Saturday."

[[Was going to anyways!]]

Kawalsky snorted and shook his head. "Whatever you say, chief." Detention. Pfft. Like that ever did anything good. "And 'sir'?" He used the term lightly. "I'm serious about that book. Or maybe you can hire DEATH as your fashion consultant."

Camulus's hands clenched. If he had a hand device, Kawalsky would be through the wall right now. That, or kneeling before him screaming in agony. He settled for pointing at the door. "Out. Now."

Kawalsky looked smug as he collected his things and put his bag over his shoulder. He nodded to the rest of the class and mock-saluted Camulus, then headed out.

Well, that was a short class.

Camulus was very, very close to going after him and ripping out something vital. Instead, he took a few very deep breaths and slowly sat back down at his desk. He wanted those . . . children on their knees at his feet.

Phoebe's hands had been gripping the edge of her desk hard enough to turn her knuckles white as she watched this exchange. She had had to fight not to get involved. How dare Kawalsky treat Camulus that way?!

[[*bows* Oh, he will have his day. Thanks for making me crack up liek whoa.]]

[ ::cackling:: Love it! ]

Allie listened to the lecture and offered her opinion on the reading.

"Good point, Miss Cameron. An excellent close reading of the text," Camulus says gravely ~~and without irony~~.

Phoebe was quiet during most of the class, but did take attendance and notes.

Camulus shot her concerned looks throughout class, but didn't ask her about it in front of the other students. He hoped she would tell him on her own.

Lyta flips through the reading as Camulus lectures, pursing her lips. When he calls for discussion, she mentions that Geoffrey of Monmouth's style reminds her somewhat of ~~Londo~~ Friar Tuck in the Robin Hood tales -- a drunken ~~Centauri~~ friar telling stories out of school: Some truth, but mostly bull. But she says it much more diplomatically...well, mostly.

Boone notices the missing sarcophagus, and is just slightly unnerved. ~~'Cause missing sarcophagi lead to missing mummies which might have been stolen during the TA's coup.~~

JOhn pays attention and participates. He takes reeeeeally good notes for Kawalsky.

Macbeth is still in "pay close attention to class, lest you give away your long-past secret plottings, you daft Scotsman" mode thanks to his somewhat uncouth outburst back on Monday.
And so he sits.

Phoebe smiles encouragingly at MacBeth...even if the smile doesn't reach her eyes.

Phoebe waited until the last student left and then moved to Camulus' side. She was still angry about Kawalsky.

"How dare he treat you like that?" she demanded angrily.

"He dares because he is a fool." Any and all progress Camulus made towards being remotely human has been completely reversed. "He and his band of Tau'ri scum should have been crushed by that fool Apophis." He abruptly realises who he is growling at, and tones it down a few notches. "Don't concern yourself with him, a ghraidh."

"I concern myself because no one gets to treat you like that, A stor," Phoebe says softly.

Camulus pats her hand. At the moment, Phoebe is just about the only thing keeping him from razing Fandom High to the ground. Sometime one just really needed to let one's evil overlord out for a walk. "You're quite correct, Phoebe. I won't let this go unpunished."

Phoebe smiles at him sadly. "Sometimes you have to remind people just who exactly is in charge."

Camulus snorted. "With people like that such a reminder has no effect."

[[Are you in on the gym-refugee-fun? Cammie's getting concerned.]]

Phoebe sighs. "Want me to kick his ass?"

[[She's in town in a room at the Arms Hotel...hiding]]

Camulus chuckles. "No offense, a the bheag, but I don't want you injured again. Especially over an insult to me."

[[OOC: "a the bheag" What does this mean?]]

[[Little one (f.). It's a Cape Breton thing, and really grammatically incorrect everywhere else. I'm pretty sure.]]

"No one should be allowed to talk to you like that, A stor."

Camulus patted her, a very worrying smile spreading across his face. "Don't worry, a ghraidh. I will have my ~~revenge~~ ~~retributions~~ satisfaction."

[[What's sad is that he won't. Because he's a Goa'uld and they're hopeless at being evil.]]

Phoebe smiles. "A stor...I don't like when peple treat you badly."

Yes. Very good idea. Inflate the Goa'uld's ego. One could almost see his head swelling.

"Thank you, a ghraidh. That means very much to me." He sighed. "I never thought the esteem of a single person could be so precious. I had thousands of worshippers not so long ago."

Phoebe smiles sadly. "I care about you a great deal A stor, but understand that I cannot take the place of thousands of worshippers."

He lightly strokes her cheek. "The thing is, mo luaidh, is that in a way you can. When I had the worship of thousands, I didn't care about them. But I do care about you. Very much so."

Phoebe leans into his touch. "Anything I can do for you, A stor, you let me know?"

[[OOC: I so need to find my Gaelic notes again.]]

"The same goes for you, a ghraidh. I do not enjoy hearing that bad things have happened to you through the radio or other students." He gives her cheek one final pat before hurriedly withdrawing his hand, and affects a mock-stern look.

If it were anyone else, Phoebe would think that she had done something wrong, but not Camulus. Never him. "I'll make sure I tell you myself."

"Very good."

[[AU smut is eating my brain. Camulus can't be too coherent.]]

Phoebe smiles.
