Anders comes over with his plate piled with shepherd's pie and tiramisu, his usual three glasses of milk balanced precariously on the edges of the tray, and sits down across from Jaye.

"You know, Tyler, you're insane."

"I have a plan," she insists. "It's only partially formulated, but it's still a plan."

He shakes his fork at her. "I'm not talking about your glitter flags."

Jaye frowns. "Buh?"

"Well, okay, those too." Anders shovels a forkful of shepherd's pie into his mouth and swallows. "Ow. Ow. Hot. Seriously, Tyler, are you trying to get Smith to make announcements about you and Kennedy on the PA every day? 'cause I kinda feel sorry for you."

"He started it!" Jaye insists. "He's the one who started getting into my love life like a big creepy weirdo."

There's really no way Anders can say "Your taste in guys is kinda screwy" without it sounding bad. Besides, it's not like he can talk about that.

He just sighs. "Dude, seriously. Kennedy?"

She'll probably hit him for it. He's getting used to that though.

Close. She kicks his shin under the table. "Shut up, I like him."

Anders shakes his head. "I don't get it, but okay. Just, like, don't expect to go out on any double dates with me and Cally unless your idea of a fun time involves getting arrested."

"That's okay, I probably would have gotten teeth pains after five minutes of a Callynanders date," she nods, because really.

Anders glares at her and says absolutely nothing about last night and the pie. "Why does everybody say that? Is that, like, a bad thing?"

"No, not bad. It's cute. It's just a lot for the cynical 50-percent-of-marriages-end-in-divorce-thinking American brain to handle. We see genuine cute and suddenly there's brain-breaky," she says.

"Should I just keep not wanting to know, then?" asks Anders, frowning and digging back into the shepherd's pie. "Or is that just, like, a Thirteenth Colony thing I don't have to worry about?"

"What, the brain-breaky? Don't worry about it. Just think of it this way: you two are cute. And you actually don't get mocked," Jaye says. "You may be the only ones in the whole school."

"That's 'cause nobody wants to make Cally cry. Although for some reason that threat doesn't seem to work on Aeryn," replies Anders, frowning and drawing Pyramid play diagrams in his shepherd's pie. "Anyway, your boyfriend mocks us."

"Not my boyfriend," Jaye corrects automatically. She doesn't think. "And Aeryn's kind of a bitch anyway."

She looks around to make sure the doppleganger boys aren't around.

Anders raises an eyebrow. "Denial, much? Or is this some kind of weird freaky arrangement I don't wanna know about?"

Jaye shrugs. "We just haven't like, assigned those titles or anything. Plus I think we're both hitting on the Mountie and his hat."

"Well, that makes it kinda inconvenient for the rest of us, doesn't it?" teases Anders. "Dude. I'm totally not."

"Sorry," she smiles.

Anders squints at her for a couple of minutes while he finishes scarfing down his food. "No, you're not. You like making it inconvenient for the rest of us."

Jaye nods. "And?"

Anders does a stunningly good deer-in-headlights impression for a few seconds. "And nothin'. Just, you know, sayin'. Wouldn't expect any less of my favorite radio broadcaster." He blinks very rapidly several times. "Who is apparently not-dating my least favorite broadcaster. Not that I've heard him lately, with my radio broken and all."

"Please," he snorts. "I hand the tools over. Anyway, I keep forgetting. It'd get to be kind of a pain in the ass after a while, though, 'cause I might end up, like, breaking it every Tuesday."
