"Oh, Zero, I always come prepared," he says pulling out cupcakes for her. "Nice hair."

Zero accepts her cupcakes and says graciously, "You may live. Thanks. Y'don't think it's too grassy? I was goin' for more of a lime color."

Lee eyes it more carefully. "I'll admit to missing the pink, but it's a good shade of green."

"The pink was startin' to get on my nerves. And it was fading. Maybe after a while I'll decide to go back to it." She shrugs and peels the paper off her cupcake.

Lee nods. "Well, I hope the pink coral-colored icing doesn't deter you from my confectionary offering," he says, indicating the delicious cupcake she's about to eat.

At the words 'coral-colored' Zero's eyebrow goes up in a way that suggests her gaydar is pinging, but then she suspects half the boys at this school of homosexuality anyway. She licks the frosting. "No, s'good. Mmm. Thanks, Lee."
