Okay, now that's embarassing. She's in enough of a funk that the Mountie feels sorry for her. "No, really, I can get it for you. Ignore my mood. I just have too much to think about." She pulled out her best smile. "Seriously. Let me help?"
"Are you sure?" Fraser asks, frowning slightly. "It would be no problem for me to ask for the assistance of one of the other library aides if you'd rather I do that."
"Very well," Fraser says, nodding. "I'm actually interested in books on American military. I'm somewhat familiar with the military but would like to know more."
"Well, I know where that is," Parker said, coming out from behind the counter, and weaving her way past the study area. "Aeryn Sun's been in there off and on. Lee Adama, too. We do have quite a few military and going-to-be-military types here. Any particular reason for the interest?"
"Always fun." Parker reached up on ther tip-toes, and tilted a book down from the highest shelf. "Army Historical Series American Military History. (http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/books/amh/amh-toc.htm) And, The History Guy. (http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/books/amh/amh-toc.htm) These should help." She handed them over, cocking an eyebrow at him before heading back to the counter. "You know, Dean Washburn was military. She'd probably be a good person to talk to."
"Thank you kindly," he says, taking the books and scanning the front covers. "And yes, the dean did mention being military when I was introduced to her. Very radical career change, going from military to dean of faculty at a local high school." Fraser stops, smiling at himself. "Though I should be the one to talk, right?"
Parker laughed, her mood starting to lighten a little. "Our Veep was a doctor. And I don't *know* what Professor Dream was. I don't think anyone here is 'traditional.' The Dean's cool, though. She's going to be our sponsor for the Gun Club this semester." She took the books, and his card, and checked them out.
