Magical Theory (Wednesday, 01/25/2006, 4th Period)

"Okay, remember how I said we were going to go over divination more today? I lied. Mostly because I forgot I told you guys we were gonna be having monthly quizzes. Because I didn't give you time to prep, it'll be an easy one this time, and we'll have some time for you to review your notes or ask questions before you take the quiz."

1. Sympathy: the knowledge of a thing brings control of a thing. Contagion: objects once in contact will remain in contact regardless of their degree of separation. Antipathy: everything has an opposite, and where this opposite isobserved to be contrary to a thing, it may be used to drive out, exorcise, dispel, or counter thatthing.

2. Magic is something that bored, power-hungry teenagers with evil plans deep inside them turn to as an extracurricular activity when their parents ignore them.

3. Karma is the theory that whatever you perform will come back to you. This often called the three-fold law, because it is thought that the karmic effects come back to the power of three. This goes for good deeds as much as bad ones.

4. The Planchette: a small, wooden object mounted on wheels with a pencil attached. The spirits communicate through the planchette.
