Creature Languages, 1/23

Dream waits until most of the class has gathered and a small purple dragon has joined him before addressing the class. A plate of chocolate chip cookies sits on his desk; there are enough for students as well as his guest.

"Hello.

As we discussed last week, you will spend today talking with the dragon Lockheed. I trust you have all prepared questions for him in his native tongue.

I will be in my office after class for any questions."

Dream then leans back against his desk, arms crossed, and waits for Lockheed to introduce himself. He can translate if needed.

Molly decided to skip even trying Formal Dragon. She was having enough trouble remembering the pronunciations she'd worked on last week. She didn't think she could handle rhyming also.

Since she'd already met Lockheed once, she gave him a little wave before starting.

/Greetings, Lockheed. I hope you are having a nice fish./ Yep. Pronunciation still needed work. /Have you tumbled any bad goats lately?/

Lockheed recognized Molly as that kid who was obsessed with Wolverine. She really needed some more practice, but it was a nice effort.

As soon as he parsed the question and made some guesses as to what she meant, he responded.

/Hello, Molly. My day has been very good. No, I have not fought any bad guys recently. This town really needs some excitement./

Molly smiled and nodded. She didn't even really try to translate what he said because she really just wanted to ask her next question. She had practiced this one a lot.

/Will Wolverine be coming to visit you anytime soon?/

Lockheed grunted something that sounded very much like the human word "Oy."

/As far as I know, Wolverine has no plans to visit./

Molly understood a few words of that. 'Wolverine' and 'no' being the ones that stood out the most. She pouted, but turned to Professor Dream to get the full translation in case she was wrong.

"What did he say?" She looked at Dream with hopeful eyes.

Molly frowned. "Yeah, that's what I thought he said." She sighed resignedly. "Wolverine? Not a friend, no. But, Lockheed knows him and I really want to meet him." Molly slouched back in her seat with a pout.
