Detention (01/21)

If either of the students in for detention knew what a Goa'uld throne room looked like, that's what they would have seen when they stepped into the Danger Room Shop. As neither do, what they see is a large room lit only by a scattered handful of flaming braziers, the light flickering off heavily embossed gold walls. The only well-lit area was, well, the throne. It wasn't a very ornate throne. There were nicer thrones, bigger thrones, shinier thrones, but in this setting it was very definitely a throne. And Camulus was sitting on it.

"Apparently detention is supposed to a punishment, but I'm not allowed to harm you." He smiles. "Sadly, taking all the fun out of it." He waves a hand towards two archways at the other end of the room. Through them can be seen more of the same - gold walls covered in vaguely Egyptian script lit by flickering torches. "You see two doors. Choose a door. Walk through it. You are dimissed when you find the door at the other end of the intricate, complex, and trap-riddled maze. Or four o'clock. Whichever comes first." He hands each of them a pack. "Your lunch and a waterbottle. I will be watching your progress. The settings of this . . . room will not allow you to be harmed. If you fall prey to a trap, you will returned to this point and have to start all over again.

"Hopefully your stay in the maze will give you opportunity to think on your actions. That, or provide you with an everlasting hatred of me. Have fun, boys. Oh, and before you enter, sign the roster beside your name."

[[If there were more people and I had been able to think coherently for the last few days, it would be choose your own adventure. Feel free to create traps for yourself, I'll drop some in your way, bump into each other, try to cheat. I'll let you know if you've gotten out.]]

Sawyer signed in. Grumbling as he does so.

Han takes the pack and stares between the doors, finally taking door one. He's a little nervous and hopes there will be no musical numbers.

Han puts his left hand on the wall and starts walking, carefully, eyes and ears open. He really misses his blaster right now. He takes the right-hand turn at the intersection and draws up very short as the floor vanishes a couple of flagstones away.

"Great," he mutters backing up to the intersection. This time he heads straight in.

"I'm not lost. Corellians can't get lost*," Han mutters, quoting the galaxy-wide proverb more to reassure himself than because he believed it.

He heads down the middle hall.

Sawyer chooses door number two just for good measure, seem so Han chose the first one. He takes the pack, clutching it rather tightly.

Gulping, he sets forward, taking the right turn with a hope that it'll lead him somewhere closer to the end. He hates mazes, very much so.

Sawyer stopped on a dime when his eyes picked up on the increase in darkness, his arm braced the wall next to him as a foot went out to feel the ground. Nothing, nothing until he felt a small, thin bridge. He wasn't about to walk that thing so he got down on all fours and inched his way across, arms and legs wrapped tightly around it.

"Not another pit." Han glares at the narrow bridge.

He's walked narrower, but it's been a while. Quite a while. And he was two feet shorter and a lot lighter.

Taking no chances, even knowing the worst that can happen is getting dropped on his butt on front of Camulus, he crawls across on hands and knees.

Since going forward got him nowhere good last time, Han takes the right branch.

Han blinks. He takes a very deep breath, missing Chiana a lot right now. At least last time he'd done something like this he hadn't been alone.

He turns right.

"Sweet." Sawyer cheered silently.
