He goes into Humanities Classroom #2 to fetch some homework that has been turned in, and notices the door to the emo storage closet is closed. Since he's a bit weird about closets after spending a week in Principal Bristow's, he stops and opens the door.
She looks up from the floor, having resigned herself to never eating, drinking, using the bathroom, or seeing the sunlight again...and instead languishing and dying listening to Jack's stomach growling.
Blinking against the bright light that floods in, she rises like a shot.
Methos leans against the doorjam, regarding the two of them. "You know, even with the padded walls, this doesn't look comfortable. Dare I ask what the two of you are doing in here?"
Pulling at Jack's hand, she tries to get him up, then decides he can just lay there. She has needs...and she's been listing them in her head over and over since 5am when she woke up.
1. Kiss whoever lets them out unless it's Ten or Geoff..in which case she's tempted to violence. 2. Bathroom 3. Coffee 4.Food 5. Home and shower.
Hugging Adam tightly and kissing him, she checks number one off her list. "We made up and now I'm planning out a dual murder."
"Geoff...and Ten. They locked us in there and left us there. All night." That warpath tone is creeping up in her voice as her lips twitch in annoyance.
"That seems a bit extreme," Methos agreed. He's not laughing because CJ does in fact know how to kill him. "Should we lock them in here, or would they enjoy that too much?"
She gives him a look, rolling her eyes. "You know I wouldn't kill them. Don't you think just having to deal with me like this is enough for them to wish they were dead?" She laughs a little and smiles at him, then holds her stomach. "And now? Next on the list."
Prudently, Methos stays out of her way. "Hungry?" he calls after her. "I can get something from the kitchen." He glances back at Jack. "Should we try to wake him up?"
Methos looks up from chuckling over the likely fall-out of the closet affair seriously grading homework. "Yes, Ms. Val Doran?" He frowns at her. "Parker didn't send you? To ask me how accurate Disney's version of Robin Hood was, or something?"
"Uh, 'Robbing hood'?" Vala looked confused and maybe slightly nervous. "No, sir. I just wanted to ask if I should drop history class now, before I completly fail?"
Methos' jocularity dropped at Vala's confusion. He came around his desk to sit on the edge. "You're not going to completely fail," he assured her. "Your first homework assignment was very good."
"Oh, I... uh, thanks." She didn't mention how long it had taken her to figure out.
"I just... I mean I need some 'history' class to graduate, but I didn't realize how hard it would be when I don't even know the first thing about this pl-- uh, place." She flounders a bit. "I mean, In Colorado, where I'm from, I lived in a tiny little village and we, uh, didn't study history at all, so...."
Methos frowns. "That's... kind of odd. I will admit I've been teaching as though there was some basic familiarity with the material." He sighs. "I guess I've been shooting things over people's heads, huh?"
"Well, no. I guess we were just, uh, very strange where I came from. We were kind of locked under a mountain isolated, I guess, so I don't know much about this planet the world or even Colorado, dammit. I know Lee's confused too, but everyone else seems to be o.k., so...." She trails off, still unsure.
Methos thinks for a moment. "Okay. Right. First thing: ignorance is not stupidity. We can fix ignorance. Stupidity generally goes right to the bone. Now, if you are feeling lost because you don't have a basic grounding in what's going on, we can fix that. Mr. Adama as well, if he'd like. If you're willing to sacrifice another hour a week, I can fill in a lot more blanks one-on-one. Extra tutoring!" he finishes triumphantly.
"Oh!" Vala frowns. Then again, she spent at least that much time in the library last week just trying to figure out what she was doing. And she needs this stupid class. "O.K., I can do that...."
Methos smiles at her. "I'll attempt not to make it too painful. We can start next week if you like. Do you want a chance to come in before the lecture and hear it all first, or after the lecture to ask me what the hell I was talking about?"
