History of Art / Studio Art Combined Studio | Jan 20, Periods 5&6

As the students enter they might notice some interesting things.

Like the 'replica' Egyptian artifacts scattered around the room.

Or the fact Autolycus looks like he spent the last few days hiding from guards of some description.

History of Art students (Class Roster)

Are each given a handout on identifying artworks from different periods of Ancient Egyptian art. Autolycus gestured at the 'replicas'.

"Kids, around me you have replicas of artworks from a selection of different periods of Ancient Egypt. There are two from each period. I want you kids to discuss what period you think each replica is from. At the end of the class, I want you to fill in the answers on your worksheets."

Studio Art students (Class Roster)

Are each handed a small book.

"I want each of you to choose an exercise from this book, after you have completed it, observe and sketch the History of Art students as they work. But don't annoy them too much."

Xander stares at the shape of the alabaster unguent vase, and says nothing. Nothing.

It's an 8.6 average stare - not on the level of, say, John Crichton being in the room, but still Nationals-level work.

"Xander, are you okay?" Rory asked, mildly concerned by the staring.

Xander tore his eyes away from the second unguent jar, and blinked. "Ah? Possibly?" He glanced back at it and made a face. "Just tip from me to you, if you ever go googling to find a picture of the plug for your laptop? Turn SafeSearch on first."

Rory blinked.

"My laptop makes waffles because I let Bridgey Carson get a hold of it. I doubt very seriously anything bad will ever turn up on it."

Xander blinked right back at her. "It makes...waffles?" His eyes unfocused for a second as he contemplated it, then he asaked, "With or without syrup?"

Xander raised an eyebrow. "Am I wrong? And does it not help that unguents are involved?"

Xander turned his head to look. "Hey, it's Rory. Clearly she needs to be protected from the trauma, even if it's too late for me."
