Driver's Ed, Jan 18th (8th period)

Much like in last week's Friday class, the Danger Shop is set up like a classroom with this at the front:

"For the first half of the class, I'd like everyone to get in the car, and just... try to get a feel for the controls. Since this is only a simulation, the car won't move, no matter how hard you press the gas pedal. So... go at it. And feel free to ask me any questions you might have."

"For the second half, we're going to take a look at these," he says, passing everyone a handout. "I want you to look over the sheet and tell me what you think the signs mean."

Archie gets behind the wheel of the car and -- well, at least there's a wheel. Even if it is small and strange and doesn't have spokes on it. He's not sure how much leverage he can get on it from a seated position, though.

He accidentally presses the gas pedal and, though the car doesn't move, the roaring of the engine makes him jump halfway out of the seat with a yelp.

*DEATH slides into the seat next to Archie, who, while not being able to see him, can definately feel the poetic justice of sitting next to personification of DEATH.*

Archie is suddenly, if vaguely, very much aware that there is, in fact, a reason that some people think of cars as weapons.

At the sound of the voice, he yelps again. "I -- I'm not sure? I might know if it weren't a simulation designed not to move!"

Unlike a very large portion of the population, Broots has been in a car before. And on one memorable occasion, he even drove one. Sort of. Into the car parked in front. Most of his car experience was in video games. Which is why he was happily letting the gas pedal hit the floor of the car.
