Yearbook meeting

Rory perches on the edge of a table in the cafeteria, and faces the people assembled there.

"Hey everyone. Thanks for coming. Now, we're going to conduct this meeting in an organized way, since there are so many of you.

First off, just so you know, meetings will be held at this time every Monday. If you have a scheduling conflict, please let me know.

I know quite a few of you have expressed interest in doing various things, but there are so many new people that I'm going to start a new staff list. So do me a favor and introduce yourself if we haven't met, and let me know what you're interested in doing.

To my photographers: I'd like to see a sample of your work, just for the sake of knowing what sort of features you'd be best at covering. [ooc: Just find a photo online or something. I don't care what it is - just PLEASE keep it clean!]

To my writers: I need you to know how to write thoughtful and classy captions. So, please write a statement about someone you see at this meeting as if you were briefly describing them to a stranger, so that I have a sample of your writing.

Those who are interested in layout exclusively: I need you to be people who are insanely organized. Please tell me the organizational system you use in your room, home, car, or whatever.

To those interested in becoming editors: Two editors of photography, two editors of captions, and two for layout. My layout editors especially need to be people who pay great attention to detail - you should be able to catch anything that the other four have missed. However, all of these positions are crucial, and require people who are willing to make a commitment. So, if you would, please fill out the following application:

Why you should be picked (cannot be the same as above):

Remember: everyone is welcome to participate in the yearbook, and if you don't know what you might be good at, I can help you find something. And, of course, feel free to ask me any questions you may have."

Rory concludes her speech, and smiles.

Max gets ready to lay his "I'm a drifter, baby; I don't make friends" speech on Rory, but then is distracted by her question. He glances slyly at the hand on his shoulder and winks, answering, "I'd love to tell you, but I've signed a release, so I can't. Frank insisted on it... some kind of legal crapola left over from that Black Stallion fiasco."

The truth is: there is a screenplay. It's about American child labor laws and the groundbreaking lawsuit that busted the whole thing wide fuckin' open. It's sort of a mix of The Talented Mister Ripley and Erin Brockovitch, with a smattering of White Heat to spice it up.

Max would have broken his contract to tell her, but some Chatchi interrupts their conversation by handing Rory a piece of paper and then walking off, mysteriously.

"Some people..." Max mutters and burns holes into the back of Mr. Broody Mysterious's head.

(OOC: With his totally human eyes, I should mention. Them holes be figurative. Posted too quick. Whoops.)
