The streamers and banners are up. So are a zillion multi-colored helium balloons.

The floor is cleared, and the bandstand is up at the north side of the room, ready for Dusted Bunnies to take their places.

The refreshment table, with the (as yet) unspiked punch is in place. There are chips and stuff as well, Chex mix, a few nachos and some guacamole.

Hawkeye arrived, remarkably sober, and grabbed a cup of punch before leaning against one of the walls to watch the madness.

Shep staggers up after clearly having spent too much time at the punch bowl.

"Mr. Vice-president, sir. I'd like you to keep in mind that I'm only saying this, not doing it. And I'm only saying it, cause he (he points back at Pip) made me... But if I had to kiss either you or the head in the tube... I'd pick you... 'cause you know... I don't belive in kissing glass. Even if it's to get an administrator on you side."

Shep is swaying side to side as he talks and looking around subltly for something to hold on to.

"It's Vice Principal, not Vice President, but thanks for the promotion. And it does wonders for a man's ego to know he outranks a head in a tube in the kissing stakes." By the swaying, Hawkeye figured that the punch had already been spiked. He was tempted to swing by and get a cup. "Take my advice, kid, find a nice, comfortable wall to lean up against before you fall down in front of someone special. With the bunch, I doubt they'd let you live it down."

Shep snapped to attention, nearly falling over in the process. "Yes sir," he said sharply and saluted. He didn't move, waiting to be dismissed.

Hawkeye mock saluted back at him. "Dismissed." Ahh, the Army. He didn't miss it at all.

"Thank you, sir!" Shep tried to do a nice military-style 180, but ended up spinning around and falling on his ass.

"Mind the floor. I hear it's slippery this time of year. Need a hand?" Hawkeye hadn't moved, but would if necessary.

From the floor, Shep studies his hands. "Nope... hands are fine. Feet are being a bitch though." Shep struggles to his feet, and finally manages to stand both still and upright.

"Feet are tricky things. You might want to keep an eye on them, make sure they don't get out of control. Go, dance, put those feet to good use while the band is still playing."

John was certain he'd seen someone that looks like this guy carrying something looking like copper tubing not too long ago. That couldn't be right, though.
