Welcome Dance - the Gym

The streamers and banners are up. So are a zillion multi-colored helium balloons.

The floor is cleared, and the bandstand is up at the north side of the room, ready for Dusted Bunnies to take their places.

The refreshment table, with the (as yet) unspiked punch is in place. There are chips and stuff as well, Chex mix, a few nachos and some guacamole.

Party on, dudes! And welcome to Fandom High.

Sakura had wandered in, nabbed some punch -- which she absently noted wasn't spiked yet dammit -- and had been making her way to find somewhere to sit and ponder when she noticed Ed, still being moody. She paused, contemplated bothering him a moment, then went with it.

"Are you still being broody and antisocial?" she asked, good-naturedly teasing.

Edward looked at her for a moment, then shrugged. "Anti-social, not so much. How went your first week of classes?"

She tilted her head to the side, shrugging one shoulder. "Class-ish." She replied blandly, walking just passed him to lean on the bleachers. "And yours?"

"They went, I guess. Nothing spectacular, unless you count a pirate looking for the anchor on a car." Edward was already leaning against the wall, and put both of his hands in his pockets, looking speculatively out into the gym.

Sakura frowned at that. "...Pirates," She repeated, sounding rather disinterested. She glowered at nothing for a moment, took a sip of her punch, then absently offered the cup to him. "It's not spiked yet, dunno if you want some." For some reason, the conversation felt forced -- why had she decided to come bother him, anyway? ...Then again, if he really hadn't wanted to be bothered, he wouldn't have shown up at a dance.

Edward offered Sakura a small smile. "No thanks. I'm...waiting to see if they spike the punch with anything good."

She nodded vaguely, bringing the cup back to her lips. She scowled a minute later and crouched, setting it beside her and resting her arms across her thighs, perched on the balls of her feet. She sat that way until she decided to glance over at Edward's shoes, which suddenly seemed to be rather interesting to her. "...So from the looks of your mood, you're still bothered by this situation with your brother?"

Edward tensed a bit at that, and then sighed deeply. "It's frustrating," he said quietly. "And I don't know what to do about it."

Sakura shrugged lightly. "I don't know what to tell you," She said truthfully, looking away from his shoes. "...other than perhaps you should try talking to him." She was still talking as if the conversation was highly uninteresting -- which it wasn't, really -- and shifted, resting her chin in one palm.
