The P.A. crackles to life.

"If you stop outside of the main office, you will see a list posted of Forty-Two students, paired up in a table. These pairs are now friends. If you are unfriendly with your new friend, I will forcibly attach the offending pair with duct tape and cover you in mango juice and raspberry jam, and then possibly release a few of Doctor Grissom's pets." There is a slight pause.

"I have just been informed that my choice of punishment would be a violation of your rights as human beings. I apologize. Instead, you will find a full list of rules and an explanation of this whole ordeal outside the main office. Those who fail to participate will participate instead in something... theatrical. You have been warned."

When Angel discovers that he's been put into the project, he doesn't look surprised.

"Guess I can't say Bristow didn't leave me a going away present."

"He lived to torture you." Marty said looking at the list.

"In a way I'm almost touched." Angel looked at the list. "Oh, hey, Blair. I know him. He was okay."

Marty looks at his sib with a confused look. "Sydney? She's back?"

Angel did his own double take. Then he looked concerned. "That, uh, probably doesn't suggest a happy ending for the kid."

Marty frowned. "Hmmm. Yeah. Not good at all. Or maybe it's a different Syd."

Marty sighs. "Darn temporal anomalies."

"Point," Angel agreed. "Met a Cordy today who wasn't from my dimension."

Marty shook his head. "Yeah? Any different from the Cordy you knew? Extra arm or anything?"

"Pretty similar," Angel said. "Extra future though. She's from a little ahead of me. Not by much, though. Maybe half a year."

"Man... that's trippy. I'm just glad no one from my past has shown up."

Marty shudders a little bit at the thought.

"You get used to it," Angel said, in the same way someone from Seattle might talk about getting used to the rain. "Though fortunately so far I've only had one person show up who I've killed."

Marty shudders even more at the thought of someone he killed showing up.

"Okay? Conversation. Pretty creepy."

"Sorry," Angel obligingly changed the topic. "See the new horse?"

"The one that goes with the monkey and the girl and pigtails? That wasn't a student right?"

Angel thought about it, then said carefully, "The monkey's not a student as far as I know."

"Well... I guess taking a class with a horse wouldn't be that strange. In comparison."

Marty frowned. "I think I better track down Sydney and find out who or.. when or..."

Marty shakes his head. "Well you know. Later."

Pippi swings by that nice Principal Smith's office to have a look at this "friend" thing his voice was talking about.

After hearing the creepy principal's announcement, and then the soft sounds of a horse in the room next door to her suite, Nadia decided it might not be too bad to get a "big sibling" to help her around school. She wandered her way down, only getting lost twice on her way, and scanned the list.

"Xander Harris. Huh."

Veronica stops by and checks the list.

Of course her name is on it. She wonders who this Pip person is. With a sigh, she scribbles down the name and makes a note to go find him or her.

Blinking wearily, Pip pours over the list. He frowns. "Vernoica Mars?" he says. "Odd name. Very war-like." He resolves to keep an eye out for her. If nothing else so that he can hit her up for a free meal.

Angela reads the list, sighing. She wonders if this is part of her Truth or Dare punishment.

Before she goes to bed, she leaves her a voice mail message to her new little sister, hoping she at least isn't as bratty as the real one.

Running a finger down the list until she reaches her name, she finds her 'big brother'. She jots "Duo" down on the back of her hand, making a mental note to search him out sometime in the next few days.

Blair wanders over to the list and tracks down his name. Seeing Angel as his big sib, he couldn't decide if he was happy. On one hand he had already met him and he seemed cool. On the other hand...he was a vampire.

Well, he was beginning to think that maybe nice trumped normal here, so he set off to find Angel's room.

Cordelia makes her way over to the list and scans it for her name. "Hamlet?" she says. "Isn't that like, what they call a small town? Oh well. He could be awesome, who knows. Guess it'll be time to find out soon."

*Hamlet reads over the list and is annoyed to find his name on it. He wonders if this is punishment for his just up and leaving to go visit Horatio in Germany over the holiday break. Cordelia Chase. He met a girl named Cordelia once, at one of those state dinners his Father made him attend. One of those saccharinely sweet daddy's-little-princess types. He wonders if this Cordelia is anything like that, and hopes that, at the very least, that meeting her will be interesting.*

Jessica, wandering around rather aimlessly, notices the posted list. Spotting her name on it, she takes a closer look.

"Oh! Look at this! I have a friend, how wonderful. Well...at least this list says I have a friend. That's still wonderful though, isn't it? Elizabeth...what a pleasant name."

Jessica, although very excited at the thought of having a new friend, wonders how, when, and where shes going to actually meet this Elizabeth.
