Library (12/20/05)

Janet ran towards the library. She'd overslept, and it looked like no one else had gotten it open yet. She flipped on the lights, unloaded the food from last night's shopping trip with Parker, made sure that no one but library staff could get to the food, and sat down to start eating while she finished up her Classics project.

"Hee. Yes. Jarod made it, I told him I wanted a home-made gift, partly so he'd save money, partly because I wanted to see what he'd come up with. And he gave me this cavity-inducing dream." She popped several frosted tiles in her mouth. "Isn't it great?"

Your Jarod is very creative. *pops a few tiles in her own mouth* We are goin' to be so hyper.

(OMGWTF Word just ate my final presentation for Prof. Dream.)

"And did you get enough shrimp? I'm not sure there's such a thing as too much, there. Plus the cheeeeesecake," Parker said, salivating a little.

[oh noes! No! *pats* le suck!]

I haven't tried the shrimp yet, but I will. *finally leaves her hidey-hole to fix an actual plate* Mmmmmmmm, cheeeesecake.

"The cheeses are really good too. Especially with the grapes. And the 'sparkling cider," Parker said, not without a tiny bit of difficulty. "I just wish Dr. Pierson were here to appreciate it."

Oh, yes, of course, 'sparkling cider.' I think we've squalling earned it.

I was supposed to shove my sestina in Professor Chaucer's box an' fly out tomorrow a little after noon, but...maybe I can get a later flight, so I can see Professor Pierson before I go?

"Maybe? Hey, you can stay at my place in Delaware if you can't get a flight until a little later. I'm leaving early Thursday morning. The limo gets here at dawn." Parker made a face. "I really have to talk to my dad about his 'rise-and-shine' philosophy." She took a bite of raspberry blini, mmm'd, and then a sip of wine. "How did you do on your sestina?"

I'll call the airport later an' see what they've got. *pops a shrimp in her mouth* Mmm.

Well, first I googled 'sestina'... I think it's all right. 'M' not so good at this structured stuff Professor Chaucer had us doin'.

"Cool." Parker indulged in the caviars, comparing them, and then chasing them with a bite of cheesecake. "Did you like his class? I was thinking of taking one of his next semester. I wish they'd come out with the schedules and lists already, I need to figure out what's going to conflict, so I can sign up for the ones I want."

*around a mouthful of fudge* It us awwite, I guess--*swallows* I don' like usin' classic structure, but I think he's kind of from before modern poetry existed.
