Office Hours - Abnormal Psychology

Jenny is sitting in her office, quietly typing on her laptop. She has some Solstice gifts for any members of her class that might stop by, something special for her TA, and presents for the Investigators' Club members who have magical abilities.

She'll ask Kiki to deliver the other gifts in the interests of promoting roleplay with new people.

Kiki stops by in the morning. "You requested a delivery service, Ms. Calender?" she says, tapping on the door.

"I am, ma'am," Kiki says, bobbing a polite curtsey. "It's very nice to meet you, too. Rather, I'm a witch-in-training." She has a broom, bristles pointed up, resting against her shoulder and a black cat trotting at her heels.

"Actually," Kiki says, amused at the contrast of her actual classes versus what Professor Calendar expected she was taking, "I'm taking Gardening, Poetry, and Introduction to Business. I was taking Professor Jareth's Manipulation Myth and Magic course, but he disappeared months ago." She doesn't sound upset as she should, considering how irritated she's been that no one cares about the people who have disappeared. "There was a Wildcrafting Club, as well, and we went on a few ventures to study the local herbs and their uses, but that hasn't met in a long time. The girl who was running it left school, I think. I just am not a full-fledged witch, yet - I'm not considered a full witch until I'm eighteen."

Kiki pauses. "The witchly studies go... with mixed progress," she answers at length. Kiki wears her heart on her sleeve, so it's easy to see a very mixed bag of jumbled emotions crossing her face.

"Magical Theories?" Kiki repeats excitedly. "That sounds just like what I'm looking for! I'm sure it would help." Kiki reaches her hand into her bag and pulls out a leather-bound book. It looks rather antique, a bit worn, but very well taken care of, and bears the title, One Hundred Spells for Beginning Witches.

"I just got this for Christmas, from Mr. Aziraphale," Kiki says; her voice softens when she mentions the giver's name. He is obviously very dear to her. A smile steals over Kiki's lips. "Probably in an attempt to keep me from filling his shop with purple avocados again."

[ooc: Yay! She's absolutely on board for that!]

[identity profile] kikidelivers.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sure," Kiki says, handing the book over. It contains a number of simple spells of a wide variety, covering illusion, conjuring, transmutation and transfiguration, several charms, a passage on banishing, and a bit on hexes, curses, and wards. "The avocados were a bit of a fiasco. They were supposed to be red holly berries on some holiday decorations. Instead, I got purple avocados that just seemed to sort of keep appearing."

Kiki pulls a wry smile. "I might be rather hopeless at conjuring, but I'm really quite good at transfiguration. Mr. Aziraphale was marvelous at helping me get rid of the infestation... particularly when it, um, escaped into the town."

[Ooc: Hee, yay devious! :D I just hope it doesn't conflict with her other classes, when the schedule comes out.]

"Come to think of it, the avocados were the only time I've ever seen - " Kiki's voice catches. She had been about to say upset but that was not at all true, now. "- annoyed. He helped me get rid of them all, incinerated several while I spent hours transforming them into holly - as that is what they were supposed to be in the first place. It was pretty exhausting. He generally doesn't mind me practicing in his shop; I work for him," Kiki explains. "In truth, Mr. Aziraphale is my best friend here."

Kiki looks at the packages. "Let's see... looks like several books..." she muses, guessing at their weight. "For everything altogether that should be about $27.00."

[ooc: Sure, it's just being honestly devious. ;-) Is it all the ones on that list except for Mac and Eighth?]

[identity profile] kikidelivers.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, it really was just a pretty comedic series of events," Kiki says, "Although at the time? More or less an unmitigated disaster." Kiki gives herself a mental shake. She's not about to go all maudlin on a client! She was a professional!

Kiki skims the list of students to get glowing snowmen. That would alter the price a little, she mused. "$33.00," she says finally, then pauses. "You know, I've never had anyone bargain me up before."

[For the delivery, do you mind if I just link all the relevant people to your post?]

"Wow, thank you!" Kiki says eagerly. "I'll get these done right away!"

[identity profile] kikidelivers.livejournal.com 2005-12-21 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Good luck with those," Kiki answers. "Have a good day, Ms. Calendar, and I'm sure I'll see you soon."

Eighth stops by Jenny's office with two cups of hot chocolate. "I brought you a little something," she says.

[identity profile] replicarter.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Psychology?" she says with a grin, "Oh, this might be very very helpful, as well as being an interesting read. Thank you." She puts her hand in her pocket and thinks very carefully before pulling out a lovely little silver-colored figure of a woman, in abstract, dancing. "Happy holidays to you as well," she says, placing it on the desk.

“A whole class? I think I have a few students this past semester in need of your classes,” she says with a laugh.

“I’m fond of watching people dance. Humans People can move so gracefully when they’re trained.”

OOC: Like mother, like daughter. Hee. Hee. Hee.

Raven stops by. She knocks on the door before entering.

[identity profile] blueskin-mystiq.livejournal.com 2005-12-21 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay. I just wanted to check on my grade, and see if there was any extra credt or anything I could add."

[identity profile] blueskin-mystiq.livejournal.com 2005-12-21 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
She nods. "Okay. How long?" (OOC, okay)

"Um, and if you minded if I signed up or the Magical Theory class next semester?"
