Investigator's Club Meeting - 2pm

At 2pm, Parker put up a sign on the door of the library:

By the sign-in sheet there is an application to be in the club. Take one and turn it in to m.parker@fandomhigh.net by next Friday. Applications will be considered by club advisors and officers.

Smirking, Parker folded her arms. "We're just friends. I've got a date for New Year's. He's a good kisser. Plus, it doesn't seem fair that he's forgotten great sex because he has amnesia." She paused. "So. Returning to the subject of your 'just a friend'...."

"See, you and Jack? Are not just friends. I don't kiss my friends. Or have sex with them. You are a...thing. You have a boy thing!" Rory flailed a little. "Anakin and I are really just friends!"

Parker fell off the table laughing.

"Thing... heeee. Friends?... heheheheh...."

Chortling, she regained her balance on the floor, and sat up, tucking her legs under her while still giggling. "Rory? I like Jack. I like sex with Jack. Nothing more. *You*, on the other hand, go to DefCon Blush every time Skywalker's name comes up recently, you spend more time with him than you do with almost anyone else, and he does the whole comfort thing for you. That is not just friends. Sorry. You fail the friend test."

Rory sank a little in her seat, her entire head a flattering shade of magenta.

"I do not blush everytime his name comes up. I just have fair skin. I blush a lot. It's not related. And...we're just close friends. I have lots of close friends. And he's protective, and very sweet. But that doesn't mean anything."

"That's important. He's not going to be blaming anyone for the break-up?" Parker asked cautiously.

Rory shrugged and blushed. "I don't see why he would. Well...I mean, I do, but nothing happened, and Logan...knows that." Rory winced for apparently no reason. "We didn't break up because of Anakin, if that's what you're asking. Or Veronica, for that matter."

"Ah." Parker relaxed. "Good. Then I won't be tip-toeing around the guy. I don't dislike him as much as I used to, but if there had been more to the break-up, I was prepared to do some hating. Good to know that's moot." She grinned again. "So. You're single and free again. Hmmm. And I don't see Skywalker dating anyone."

"He's not allowed. Jedi thing," Rory said a trifle sadly. She blushed more, and added, "Not that it matters. Because we're friends, and not dating, nor planning to, or anything. Yes."

"Like being a monk? At his age? Talk about harsh." Parker smirked. "And keep telling yourself that, and maybe? It'll be true. Eventually."

"I think it's different from being a monk. He said he's not supposed to have like, attachments." Rory shrugged. "But he also told me about...um...another Jedi who had a relationship awhile back, who managed to keep it secret and didn't get in trouble or anything. So I don't know." She scowled. "And we're friends. Why does everyone keep insisting there's more?"

"So it's not the sex, it's the emotion? Maybe they'd let him off with a warning too, then." She smiled tauntingly. "If he ever has a reason to want to break that rule, that is. And to answer your question, we keep insisting on more-than-friends because there's chemistry. Zing. Maybe you can't see it because it's happening to you, but it's there."

"It's the emotional thing. I think he has to be unbiased," Rory explained softly, eyeing the table and seriously considering crawling under it.

She raised her voice slightly and began talking just a bit too quickly. "And it doesn't matter because we're just friends and nothing more and I don't know what chemistry you're talking about because we're just friends and that is all."

"Breathing in between words will help convince people, Gilmore. I don't know about convincing you, though." Parker shook her head. "Okay, letting it go, not commenting, not mentioning it... unless he comes by and it's *really* obvious."

Rory glanced at the door. "You don't think he'd come, do you?"

If she sounded hopeful, it was simply because she enjoyed spending time with her friend.
