Library (12/14/05)

After Classics--and a quick trip to visit Daniel--Janet opened up the library, dropped her backpack in a corner, and started finding excuses not to work.

Parker frowned, studying CJ with concern. "She's usually in her boyfriend's room if you can't find her anywhere else. 226. What's wrong?"

226. Got it. [She pulls out a pen and writes in on her palm. Looking around, she leans in close and lowers her voice.] Someone stole his memory, Parker. He doesn't know me. Doesn't know anything, anyone. But he left me a message about...things, before it happened. I have to find Vala, fast.

Eyes widening in shock, Parker said, "Whoa. That sounds way more serious than the usual gremlin bite or mind-messing around here. Is there anything I can do?"

I don't know, hon. I...just don't know. [She sighs heavily, but her jaw is set and she's frightenly determined.] Keep an eye out for Vala. She's the only lead I have right now. I think I messed up taking him from his former guardians and I really need to figure out how to put this right. [She looks around the library.] Keep it quiet, I guess. And don't freak if he doesn't know you.

Uh, the term. Three months? He knows who he is. Was. [She puts her hand on her temple.] This time stuff gives me a headache.

"No argument there." Parker shook her head, then said, "I'll tell Mal Doran you're looking for her if I see her. I hope you find something to help him. Three months gone...." She frowned again. "I can't imagine."

And you don't want to. If he said anything to you, Parker...anything that he told you was a secret...God I hope you've kept it to yourself. Keep an eye out for anything strange. Ok? IF you don't feel safe, get to the TARDIS. Ok? [She's getting more upset the more she talks. Looking down at her palm, she nods to herself.] I've gotta go, Parker. I've got to get on this.
