After Classics--and a quick trip to visit Daniel--Janet opened up the library, dropped her backpack in a corner, and started finding excuses not to work.

"Trusting each other is really freaking big," Angela says. "I never wanted to say anything against Logan because he seemed to fit well with you, you know? But ... I'm not surprised. It sucks for both of you, but I'm not surprised."

She twists a piece of hair. "What happened?"

"It was very...quiet," Rory said thoughtfully. "The most peaceful breakup I've ever had, actually. I just said I didn't want to be with someone who didn't trust me, he said he didn't either, I gave him his key back and..."

She gestured vaguely. "And that was it. We don't hate each other or anything. It's much less explosive than when my first boyfriend and I broke up, and - " she smiled a little bitterly, "- and I can't really compare it to the whole Jess thing. But...I don't know. I still care about him. Logan, I mean. I just...it feels right, to have done this."

Angela takes this in carefully. "The first time Jordan broke up with me was like that," she says. "We just realized it didn't work. And then ... we were trying to be friends, and it got really, really weird. I mean, it was good, I guess, but incredibly confusing to, like, everyone."

"When Marty and I broke up it was just an explosion, and that one didn't stick, either." She tilts her head back, studying the ceiling. "Maybe it's just really hard to break up with someone you care about. Even when it is, like, the actual right thing to do."

"It is hard," Rory agreed. "But like...I don't know. I'm sad, but I'm kind of at peace with it."

She was about to say more when she noticed Angel and Marty (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh/455655.html?thread=21082343#t21082343).

"Whoa."

"Whoa," Angela agrees.

Then she's on her feet and headed over to Marty. Whatever Angel's deal is, she figures it's better she's near her boyfriend as a buffer. Or whatever.
