After Classics--and a quick trip to visit Daniel--Janet opened up the library, dropped her backpack in a corner, and started finding excuses not to work.

Janet waved and wondered where Callisto was going in such a rush.

Anyone standing close enough would have heard Callisto muttering various imprecations against art teachers who got themselves shot into space without having the common decency to send their TAs copies of the class's grades.

If anyone had been standing near where Janet was shelving books--possibly right around the 700 section--they might have heard Janet start griping about idiot librarians who decide they'd rather teach history instead.

If Janet did happen to be close enough for Callisto to hear her griping, then she definitely should have been close enough to hear Callisto suggest beating some sense into the librarian with an extremely large and heavy book, like the one (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0714829846/ref=ed_oe_h/103-3748396-7303839?%5Fencoding=UTF8) Callisto was currently holding perhaps?

Janet was definitely close enough to hear Callisto making that kind of suggestion, and she eyed the book Callisto was holding. Janet might have muttered something about that making a lovely dent in the librarian's skull. She might have thought about finding a history book that was as dense as the librarian. Maybe like this one. Or even possibly this one.

If the librarian was close enough to hear what they were saying, he would have protested that he wasn't *going* anywhere, he'd *offered* to both teach and be librarian. But he wasn't, and if he was, he would have been wiser to just accept that he was going to get thwapped with large heavy books and be done with it.

If Janet had known that if the librarian had heard, she would have said that she really didn't want to have to break in a new librarian. And that Methos should have known he'd have to suffer for more than a day after abandoning them. She'd also say that he'd better throw the library staff a gift exchange party pretty darn soon.

She might even hint about them buying a gift for him.
