Investigator's Club, the Library -- NFB

After kicking out everyone who wasn't a library aide, a Librarian, or incipient club member, Parker hung a sign on the outside door:

INVESTIGATOR'S CLUB MEETING
PRIVATE

Then adjourned to the counter, where the brownies, drinks, cookies, and fudge were.

Hopefully, more than just Marty, Zero, Janet and the Souled Wonder were going to show.

"I think I could make it worth your while," Logan said, placing a casual hand on her thigh.

Rory swallowed, and became utterly fascinated by something on the ceiling. "Oh? Um. Would I just need to...wear the pants for a bit? I suppose I could do that."

"Wouldn't have to leave them on very long at all," Logan said in a low voice.

"Then...that shouldn't be too hard," Rory said softly, still staring at the ceiling and blushing. "Might even be fun."

"I'd hope so," Logan grinned.

"Well, you know how I get self-conscious," Rory smiled, shrugging and moving her gaze a fraction lower. She was now staring at the stacks.

"I guarantee the audience will appreciate the show," Logan said, his thumb rubbing her thigh.

Rory chewed on her pen a little more. "But would that be fair? I mean, I've already done the leather thing once. Maybe someone else should wear provocative clothing." She glanced sidelong at Logan before looking back ahead of her.

"I've never seen the leather thing," Logan pointed out. "How fair is it if I'm the only one who hasn't seen it? Besides, what would I wear?"

"You've seen the pictures, though," Rory replied. "I'm not opposed to it - I'm just saying that there's a lot of me in leather, school uniforms, and so on. And use your creativity. You're a bright boy. Surely you can think of something."

Logan leaned in close to her. "Think I'd look good in leather pants?" he asked.

Rory scoffed, grinning. "Like you have to ask."

"Okay," Logan said. He brushed a thumb over her lower lip. "I'll get a pair of leather pants. I'll put them on, model for all your friends and then I'll give you the pictures."

Rory pouted.

"What? Would that be somehow less than satisfying?"

"I said I'd model the pants specifically for you," Rory said poutily. "And now you're being mean."

"You were complaining you'd already done the leather thing once," Logan pointed out.

"And that you've never done the leather thing. Thus the solution is that if I were to wear said pants in the near - " she glanced at the clock, "- very near future, then you should invest in a pair and return the favor." Rory nodded once authoritatively.

Logan considered this for a moment, then nodded. "Your terms are acceptable."

"I'm glad they meet with your approval," Rory said solemnly.
